وقالَ زُهير في معلّقتِه:
تَدارَكتُما عَبسًا وذبيانَ بعدَ ما
تَفانَوا ودَقّوا بينَهُم عِطرَ مَنشَمِ

وأكو مقولة: «دقَّ اللهُ بَينكُما عِطرَ مَنشَمِ»
