أخذُ الأُمورِ بجديّة:

Why ammonia is a bitch?
Protein metabolism in animals (including humans) creates ammonia, which is very toxic. That's why every animal has developed its own way to get rid of it:

• Humans get rid of ammonia by turning it into urea and excreting it in urine.

• Fish get rid of ammonia by excreting it directly into the water through their gills (just like we get rid of CO2 through our lungs). Which is one reason why you should change the water in the fish tank every now and then. (Bcuz ammonia will accumulate and hurt their skin and fins and eventually cause a mass murder).

• Birds and reptiles turn ammonia into uric acid and excrete it with the feces (not the urine, bcuz uric acid loves to form painful urinary stones).
Plants, on the other hand, LOVE ammonia. They love ammonia so much that they sometimes let ammonia-producing bacteria form colonies on their roots: beans, peas, and soy plants live in symbiosis with Rhizobia bactera. The bacteria gives the plant ammonia, and the plant gives the bacteria a place to sleep (and some organic acids).
Also, that's why we make so much ammonia in our factories; because we use it as a fertilizer.

Why ammonia is a bitch?
Short answer:
Bcuz it's both very toxic and very essential for life, just like the way u felt towards ur ex (whom you now call, a bitch) right before u broke up.

There's this thing called aquaponic farming in which they grow fish and plants together: The fish produce ammonia in the tank, and the water from the fish tank is used to grow plants. The plants benefit from the ammonia for their own growth, and at the same time clear the water from ammonia and send it back to the fish tank to be reused.

بالمناسبة، بالإنسان، الكبد هو اللي يحول الأمونيا إلى يوريا. ولهذا لما الشخص ينصاب بفشل بالكبد أو تشمع Cirrhosis فمن الممكن تزيد نسبة الأمونيا وتسبّب Hepatic encephalopathy

هذي النباتات تنمو بمناطق تفتقر تربتها لعنصر النيتروجين، لذلك تطوروا بشكل يمكّنهم من اخذ احتياجهم منه من خلال التحورات الي صارت لأوراقهم او جذورهم (حسب نوع النبات اللاحم) وصاروا يتغذون على الحشرات او الحيوانات الصغيرة لهذا السبب.

+ الامونيا NH4 والنترات NO3 هي من اكثر المركبات غنية بالنيتروجين، والي يعتبر عنصر مهم جدًا جدًا جدًا لحياة النباتات لأنه يدخل بتصنيع الاحماض الامينية والاحماض النووية والمركبات المهمة الثانية منها هرمونات النمو.
