A person's right to be considered a 'genius' by posterity is influenced by quite irrelevant factors; he is more likely to be called a 'genius' if he behaves oddly, dies young or very old, has episodes of madness, is psychopathic in his relations with others, disregards normal restrictions, and generally lives up to the stereotype of genius people have in their minds. If genius, as we have agreed, is a social creation, we should not wonder if quite irrelevant criteria slip in!

Alcohol temporarily reduces the essential tremor (ET) for about 1 to 4 hours depending on the dose (shot). Afterwards, it causes rebound and worsens the tremor for about a day or so.

Still, alcoholism causes cerebellar degeneration and worsens the tremor eventually, and that's why vodka is not considered a medication... yet.
