Ever since our species began, people have suffered from traumatic events, from uncertainty about the future, and from negative changes in their life over which they have little or no control. Yet when something so simple as a possibly disturbing movie is shown on television, professional psychologists are willing to set up counseling services to deal with the trauma of viewing it.
