ما تمثّله القضية الفلسطينية اليوم وغزّة بالتحديد هو أنها محاكَمةٌ للضمير الغربي، وبيانٌ عمليٌ يُدينُ كل ما هو خاطئ ومُدَمِّر في الأخلاقيات الغربيةِ والمبادئ التي تقوم عليها. إذ أنّها دليلٌ واضِح على أنّ أفكارًا مثل حقوق الإنسان¹ والمحاكم الدولية والحلول السلمية ليست إلّا أسلحةً فكريةً وإعلاميةً هي الأُخرى بِيَدِ السلطة والنظام. وأنّ القانون القديم قِدَمَ الزمان: مَن يَحمِل السيف²، يَملِك الحق³، هو ذاتُه ساري المفعول منذ الأزل وإلى يومِ الناسِ هذا. فالبَشَرُ هُم البَشَر، والسلطة هي السلطة، ومَن يخدع نفسَه بأنّ الآخر ذو القوة والغَلَبة سوف يَحتَرِم "إنسانيته" ويضمن له حقوقه بلا ضمانٍ سوى حُسنِ الأخلاقيات وطِيبِ النيّة فهو واهِمٌ على أقل تقدير. بل هو أسوأ مِن واهِم، إذ تراهُ يستجدي "حقوقَ الإنسان" منهم استجداءً بل وحتّى إنسانيتُه تصيرُ صَدَقَةً يتفضّلون بها عليه، إنْ شاءوا مَنَحوها أو مَنَعوها وفقًا للمصالِح والتصوّراتِ العنصرية والدينية، وليس لمبرِّرٍ أخلاقي (أو إنساني). فإنْ لَم يَرُق لهم دِينُه أو لونُ بَشَرَتِه أو شَكلُ عِمامتِه إعتَبَروه وحشًا أو رجعيًا أو—لا سامح الله—نازيًا.

•¹مفهوم الحقوق بحدّ ذاتِه، وهو مفهوم سياسيٌ بحت، يتطلب وجودَ سلطةٍ تَعلو على هذهِ الحقوق لكي تَمنَحها وتحدِّد مُستَحِقَّها مِن غَيرِه. بالنتيجة، فإنّ السلطة التي تمنح حقوقَ "الإنسان" لا تملك مالَك وحياتَك فقط، بل هي التي تقرر أيضًا كونَك إنسانًا أم لا.
