Every generation laughs at the old fashions, but follows religiously the new.

- Walden, by H. D. Thoreau
It would be well perhaps if we were to spend more of our days and nights without any obstruction between us and the celestial bodies, if the poet did not speak so much from under a roof, or the saint dwell there so long. Birds do not sing in caves, nor do doves cherish their innocence in dovecots.

There are uneducated idiots who read and think too little,
And there are educated idiots who read and think too much.
The Western mind is the faithful son of Socrates (as depicted by Plato).
While the Western spirit is the good daughter of Jesus Christ (as depicted by st. Paul).
Here's an irony:
People today talk about merging with AI and machines to "overcome their biological bodies" and attain singularity, or they talk about uploading their minds to a computer so they can live after the death of their biological bodies.

And I can't help but remember how the religious people of the past used to pray and worship their gods so they can "overcome their mortal bodies" and live eternally in heaven or something.
Shows and movies like Westworld, Transcendence, and other works of science fiction are THE MYTHS and religious stories of modern times.
