Here's a little organic chemistry:

This is benzene, a hydrocarbon, also called cyclohexane since it's circular and it has 6 (hexa in Greek) atoms.

This is nitrogen, a weird element

Combine them and you'll get a heterocarbon (just a fancy name for a cyclic carbon compound, with an element other than carbon in it):

If your heterocarbon has one N, it's a pyridine.

If it has 2 N's, it's a pyrimidine

Now, benzenes have 6 atoms... What if they have 5, and what if they contain 2 N's?

Then we get imidazole

So, what if pyrimidine and imidazole both became horny and mingled together?

This is purine, the lovechild of both pyrimidine and imidazole

ميحتاج أكولها، هذا هم مهم ويدخل بتركيب الحمض النووي والكافيين والـ uric acid (اللي إذا زادت كميته، رح يسبب داء النقرس) وعلاج إسمه الـ theophylline

أكو إنزيم بالجسم، إسمه xanthine oxidase. هذا وظيفته يجيب ذرة أوكسجين ويلزكها بوحدة من ذرات الكاربون اللي بالـ purine (يعني يؤكسده).
إذا الـ purine لزكت بيه ذرة أوكسجين وحدة، يصير hypoxanthine. إذا ثنين، يصير xanthine. إذا ثلاثة، يصير uric acid.

لما يزيد الـ uric acid ويسببلنا داء النقرس، ممكن ننطي علاج هو allopurinol اللي ببساطة يوكف هذا الإنزيم بحيث الـ xanthine/hypoxanthine ما يتأكسد ويتحول لـ uric acid.
