The only time that I know of, where you can use alcohol (ethanol) as a medication is in the case of methanol poisoning.

Methanol is metabolized by alcohol-dehydrogenase enzyme (ADH) into toxic metabolites that cause acidosis (anion-gap metabolic acidosis). Ethanol is metabolized by the same enzyme so it competes with methanol and prevents its degradation into these toxic substances until it is filtered by the kidneys or through dialysis.

المشكلة (مدري مو مشكلة) لازم تبقّي المريض عالكحول وبجرعات عالية نسبيًا لعدة أيام لحدما الكِلية تصفّي كل الميثانول، أو تسرّع العملية وتسويله غسل كلوي.
