«المبالغة»

هي أنْ يذكر الشاعِرُ حالًا مِن الأحوال في شِعرٍ لو وقف عليها لأجزأه [أَيْ كَفاه] ذلك في الغرض الذي قَصَدَه، فلا يقف حتى يَزيد في مَعنى ما ذَكَرَه من تلك الحال ما يكون أبلغَ فيما قَصَد له. مثل قول عمير بن الأيهم التغلبيّ:
وَنُكْرِمُ جَارَنَا مَا دَامَ فِينَا
وَنَتْبَعَهُ الكَرامَةَ حَيْثُ مَالَا
فإكرامُهم للجار، ما دام فيهم، مِن الأخلاقِ الجميلة المَوصوفة. لكنّ إتباعهم إيّاه الكرامة حتى إذا خَرَجَ مِن ديارِهم هو من المبالغة في الجميل. وكلُّ فَريقٍ إذا أتى مِنَ المبالغةِ والغلوِ بما يَخرجُ عن الموجودِ ويَدخلُ في بابِ المَعدوم، فإنّما يريدُ به المثل وبلوغَ النهايةِ في النعتِ والوصف.

الغلوّ بالشِعر عندي أَجوَدُ المذهَبَين، وهو ما ذهبَ إليه أهلُ الفهمِ بالشِعر والشُعراءُ قديمًا.
وقد بَلَغَني عن بعضِهم أنّه قال: أحسَنُ الشِعرِ أكذَبُه.

باختصار: الشاعِر حتى يوضّح مقصده، تلكاه يبالغ كلش بالوصف بحيث "يخرج عن الموجود ويدخل في باب المعدوم" بمعنى أنّه يكوم يسولف عن شي ما موجود أو غير قابل للوجود. لكن هاي المبالغة وإن كانت غير صحيحة بالمعنى الحرفي، إلا أنها كلش تساعد القارئ أو السامع بأنْ يركّز على اللي يريده الشاعِر.

خاصةً بباب الغزل، تلكة الشاعر يوصف الفتاة بشي ما موجود بيها، أو يستحيل أن يوجد ببشر، بس هالشي يفيد حتى يبيّن أنها حلوة كلش، كلش

«Hyperbole»

Is the English equivalent of المبالغة. It's a figure of speech that employs rhetorical exaggeration for the sake of emphasis. It involves extravagant statements that are obviously untrue. Hyperboles are not the same as lying. Whereas hyperbolic statements are meant to be recognized and interpreted as figurative language with the intent to emphasize, lying involves making false statements with the intent to deceive. Hyperbole is common in love poetry, in which it is used to convey the lover’s intense admiration for his beloved.

Hyperbole in writing is the equivalent of raising your voice to be heard in a loud crowd. It exaggerates some ideas in the text so more attention can be paid to them.

عقد الجاحظ مقارنةً بين العجم والعرب فقال:

The heated religious arguments among adherents of different sects are making a great service for the skeptic; because each of them goes to great lengths to expose the weak points of his opponent's religious systems, while his opponent does the same. Even more so, each of them offer the skeptic with arguments to invalidate the religious system of his opponent, thereby invalidating every system involved in the discourse.

That being said, the modern age offers the perfect ground for skepticism for it makes all the attacks that were waged against Religion in all times and places available to the individual at once. All the weak objections of disbelief that were dispersed across geography and history, are now concentrated into a single crusade of disbelief.
