At school in Paris, where he lived, Marcel Proust impressed his classmates with his strangeness. من محاسن الصدف أنّي قريت Livewired وراها Peak وراها يلا قريت Mastery.

كتاب Livewired موضوعه الأساسي جان المرونة العصبية (neuroplasticity) وشلون تشريح ووظائف الدماغ والجهاز العصبي تتغير حسب المهارات والأشياء اللي نمارسها ونستمر عليها.
وPeak لـ Anders Ericsson جان يتحدث عن الموهبة الفطرية وشلون أنها بالحقيقة نتيجة للتدريب المطوّل والواعي لتعلم مهارة معينة.
وراها يلا قريت Mastery اللي، إلى حد كبير، جمع أفكار الكتابين الفوك ودمجهن بحيث كدرت أربط بين هواي أفكار موجودة بهاي الكتب الثلاثة. بالإضافة إلى أنّه وفّر أمثلة كلش حلوة بشكل قصص وسِيَر لأشخاص همّ الأفضل في مجالاتهم مثل موزارت، وبنجامين فرانكلين، ودافنشي، ودانييل إيفريت، وآينشتاين، ومارسيل بروست.

لما تأسس الانستا لأول مرة بسنة 2010، جان هدفه الأساسي أن يكون شبكة تواصل اجتماعي مبنية على أساس الصور. بس المشكلة جانت أنّ الصور آنذاك ما جانت واضحة جدًا أو حلوة جدًا بسبب أنّ كاميرات الهواتف ما جانت بالتطور اللي هي عليه هسة.
اللي سواه كيفن سيستروم وشريكه أنهم حوّلوا هذا العيب إلى ميزة وأضافوا فلاتر تحوّل الصور غير الواضحة والمو حلوة، إلى صور غير واضحة ومو حلوة بشكل فني ومتعمّد. بالنتيجة صار عدنا شي مثل الـ retro photos & filters بحيث صور الانستا اللي تاخذها اليوم بكاميرا جهازك ذات التقنيات التخبل، صرت تستخدم بيها هالفلاتر عن عمد حتى تخليها تشبه الصور السيئة (من ناحية الجودة والدقة) المأخوذة بالكاميرات القديمة مال أيام التسعينات والثمانينات.
