"Please accept my resignation. I don't want to belong to any club that will accept me as a member."

"It also was where children were supposed to learn, as if the preceeding fourteen or fifteen years hadn't already made it painfully clear, that generals outrank colonels who, in turn, outrank majors and captains and lieutenants and everyone, but everyone, outranks children. Within the ranks of children, boys always outrank girls."

people diagnosed with bipolar I disorder can also have mixed episodes, or what some physicians refer to as dysphoric mania. According to the DSM-IV-TR, this means that you have met the criteria for major depressive disorder and mania nearly every day for at least a week. Some people describe mixed mania as the “tired but wired” feeling. You can feel extraordinarily pessimistic and hopeless, fatigued, and unable to concentrate, but still feel “revved,” anxious, irritable, driven, and sleep deprived, with your thoughts moving very rapidly.
Why would some people die for a loved person?... I can't grasp the sense of it

"You have to regard yourself as a cloud, because, you see, clouds never make mistakes. Did you ever see a cloud that was misshaped? Do you ever see a badly designed wave?... No, they always do the right thing"

"Life can be a burden.

It isn’t for wimps, the soft, or the faint of heart. It’s a raw game that dishes out raw deals on a daily basis."
"I'm Chandler, I make jokes when I'm uncomfortable"

"The search is what anyone would undertake if he were not sunk in the everydayness of his own life. To become aware of the possibility of the search is to be onto something. Not to be onto something is to be in despair."

GPITRAL2 Music for Learning English with subtitles – Mary Hopkin Those were the days lyrics
"Those were the days" by Mary Hopkin

[Verse 1]
Once upon a time there was a tavern
Where we used to raise a glass or two
Remember how we laughed away the hours
And dreamed of all the great things we would do

[Chorus]
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way
La la la la...

[Verse 2]
Then the busy years went rushing by us
We lost our starry notions on the way
If by chance I'd see you in the tavern
We'd smile at one another and we'd say

[Chorus]
Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days
La la la la...

Through the door there came familiar laughter
I saw your face and heard you call my name
Oh, my friend, we're older but no wiser
For in our hearts, the dreams are still the same
