And also, Iraqi women take their turn shooting rifles and pistols during today's fighting at the green zone, to the delight of the surrounding spectators.

I see that forming and maintaining a firing line is less important here... :)

Iraq: In a dramatic speech, Muqtada al-Sadr called on his supporters to withdraw from the Green Zone immediately

At 1:00 p.m. (local time), the Iraqi Shiite leader Muqtada al-Sadr addressed his (confused) supporters and called on them to withdraw within 60 minutes from the Green Zone in Baghdad and the area of the parliament building and stop protesting.

In his words, al-Sadr stated that he was sad about what was happening in Iraq and apologized to the Iraqi people for the events. Al-Sadr then announced that he would disown any supporter who won't withdraw from the Green Zone within 60 minutes. Al-Sadr cleared the pro-Iranian Al-Hashd al-Shaabi militia from the riots, announcing that they had nothing to do with it, and thanked the Iraqi security forces for their stance towards all parties.

Al-Sadr also declared that Iraq is now a prisoner of corruption and violence. He then concluded his speech by saying that if they had disbanded the armed militias as he previously demanded, Iraq would not have reached the current situation. Al-Sadr emphasized in the past that only Iraqi security forces are needed and no other sectarian armed militias.

Immediately after the end of the speech, al-Sadr's supporters began withdrawing from the Green Zone. Senior Iraqi officials, including the Iraqi Prime Minister, thanked al-Sadr for helping to stop the violence.

Say what you will about him, Muqtada al-Sadr holds enormous power in his hands.

At his will, Iraq will burn, and at his will, there will be peace.

Things are returning back to normal in Iraq

One of al-Sadr's supporters took a large poster of the Shiite leader with him on his way home... and also a cow.

The PA's security coordination with Israel

Fatah activists added the photo of Nabil al-Suhalhi (circled in red), arrested this morning in Nablus, to a collage of PA security apparatus officers who carried out attacks against Israeli forces in recent weeks.

They also added the following text: "Heroes of (the PA's - Abu Ali) Security Coordination (with Israel - Abu Ali)", mockingly responding to Hamas supporters accusing Fatah of treason in its collaboration with Israel.

Pro-Iranian hackers in a message to the Director of the Mossad:

Take care of your health and brush your teeth twice a day!

The hackers hint that the attached photos are of the teeth of the current Mossad chief.

According to them, this is the first in a series of messages promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Lebanese citizens criticizing the ministers who threw stones at Israel on social media

Quite a bit of criticism was seen on social media in Lebanon after the surreal sight of government ministers throwing stones at Israel (in the attached clip taken yesterday, the Lebanese Ministers of Energy and Social Affairs throwing stones at Israel).

Below are several quotes I picked up from Lebanese social media (some from "resistance axis" pages):

Quotes from Lebanese social media criticizing the ministers who threw stones at Israel:

1. "It's so sad... They are literally throwing my future away..."
2. Before finding the time to throw stones, how about you work on providing me with electricity."
3. "They (the ministers - Abu Ali) prevent us from ever progressing out of the Stone Age..."
4. "(Dear - Abu Ali) Minister of Energy, you can't even turn on a light bulb, and you want to wipe Israel off the face of the earth by throwing a stone (at it - Abu Ali)?"
5. "They took a group of idiots and made them ministers..."
6. "Echoes of explosions of laughter heard yesterday coming from the Israeli settlements..."
7. "How do you want us to have electricity when the "Minister of Darkness" (Energy - Abu Ali) is an idiot, and the "Minister of Diapers" (Social Affairs - Abu Ali) is even more idiotic than him?
8. The Minister of Energy and the Minister of Social Affairs threw stones at Israel. One cannot guarantee an hour of electricity, and the other is responsible for having 80% of Lebanon below the poverty line.

The Temple Mount: Palestinians are complaining about the length of a skirt

Palestinian groups monitor women visiting the Temple Mount daily (as was in the case of the Spanish tourist). Some Palestinians were deeply disturbed by the length of the skirt of a Jewish woman in the attached picture.

A Fatah supporter found an amusing way to utilize this image to attack Hamas, claiming to be "the Defender of al-Aqsa", by mockingly asking:
Where is the "Sword of Jerusalem" (the Hamas-given name for last year's fighting in Gaza - Abu Ali) that was supposed to protect Al-Aqsa?

His friend then answered him: "The sword of Jerusalem" is the one that cut that skirt to this current length... (:

Administrative detainee, hunger-striking Khalil Awawdeh announces the end of his hunger strike

Khalil Awawdeh, the Palestinian administrative detainee who the Islamic Jihad sought to free in their cease-fire agreement with Israel that ended the latest round of fighting in Gaza, has announced this evening that he is stopping his hunger strike. According to reports, Awawdeh's decision came after he received a written agreement in which Israel pledged not to extend his administrative detention beyond 02/10/22.

It's safe to assume that Egyptian pressure, as well as the published pictures of Awawdeh shirtless, had a role in Israel's promise not to extend his detention by more than a month.
