Super Elevation
👉🏿 Objective
To counteract the centrifugal force acting on the vehicle at circular curves.
👉🏿 Concept
Raise the road at the edge so the weight component vehicle balance the centrifugal acceleration and avoid the slipping and overturning or vehicle.
👉🏿 Equations
Rv = V²
g(fs + e)
Where : e= rate of super elevation
fs = coefficient of friction
R = radius of horizontal curve in meter
V = design speed in m/s
g= 9.81 m/s
