10 of the Largest Construction Projects in the World
#7. High-Speed Railway, California
Work on California's high-speed train began in 2015 and is scheduled for completion in 2029. It will connect eight of the 10 largest cities in the state and reach from San Diego in the south to San Francisco in the north. The project will be completed in two phases: Phase 1 will connect Los Angeles to San Francisco; Phase 2 will extend connections to San Diego and Sacramento. The train will be 100-percent electric and will be powered entirely by renewable energy and capable of speeds up to 200 miles per hour.

These are Haunch bars which are generally used in RCC water retaining structures like water treatment plants, sewage treatment plant etc and also used in Box culverts to attain extra strength and resist the bending moment at supports. In Ground level reservoir, the water pressure at bottom is very high, hence to reduce the hoop tension the haunch bars are provided.

10 of the Largest Construction Projects in the World
#8. Chuo Shinkansen, Japan
Officially called the Linear Chuo Shinkansen, Japan's newest high-speed rail line will take travelers from Tokyo to Nagoya—286 kilometers—in 40 minutes, at speeds up to 505 kilometers per hour. This leg of the high-speed journey is scheduled for completion by 2027. A later phase will extend the line to Osaka. About 86 percent of the Tokyo-Nagoya line will be underground, requiring extensive tunnel construction. This magnetic levitation (also known as "maglev") train is the fastest train in the world.

RAFT or MAT FOUNDATIONS
A raft foundation, also called a mat foundation, is essentially a
continuous slab resting on the soil that extends over the entire footprint
of the building, thereby supporting the building and transferring its
weight to the ground.
A raft foundation is also very good for basements. Foundations are
created by excavating soil in order to find strong, compact, undisturbed natural soil that is at least a few feet below ground level. This soil is much stronger than the loose soil at the surface. If we construct a raft foundation at say 10 feet below ground, and build concrete walls around
the periphery, this makes an excellent basement. Therefore, an engineer designing a building with a basement will tend to choose a raft
foundation over other types of foundations.

👋Hello Members.
Here is safe software.
Its important to design different slab & footing types.
👉Slab: Solid, Ribbed, Flat
👉Foundation: Isolated, Combined, Strap & Mat
Don't forget share it

Bent up barsAre the main reinforcements bent at a suitable angle to act as shear reinforcements.
Reinforcements are bent up to the supports/ends where greater compressive force occurs.
Bars Are Bend Near At Support To:
1- To resist shear force .
2-To resist (NBM) adjacent at supports.
3- To increment the strenth of RCC in slab.
4- Bent Up bar can abate the amount of steel.
5- Bent up bars in slab is more strong form normal slab.
6- Bent up bars sufficiently increase the deformation capacityof slabs as compared to those not having bars bent.
7- By extending bars up to supports, we can also lower the risk of brittle failure due to higher compressive stresses causing the structure to collapse.
