Al Mayadeen’s Yemen bureau further reported that the statement by the Yemeni Armed Forces indicates they intend to target Saudi vessels wherever they are able to reach them, even if the ships alter their routes.

All buses that departed two days ago were turned back, while Bahraini pilgrims arriving by air were detained at the airport for 20 hours before being deported to their point of departure.

3) Zionist Aliyev-led Azerbaijan: The trial of six faithful Shiite women continues after they were arrested on August 15 in the Binə settlement for distributing charitable food (ehsan) during the Arbaeen commemoration of Imam Husayn (A). At the latest hearing on July 29, the court rejected a request to place them under house arrest. The women denied all charges, stating they had committed no crime and were only participating in a religious mourning ceremony through elegiac recitations (növhə). Two of the defendants presented evidence that they were not even present at the food distribution site when the alleged incident occurred. Charged under Articles 221.3 (hooliganism) and 233 (disruption of public order) of Azerbaijan’s Criminal Code, they continue to reject the accusations and demand full acquittal. The next hearing is scheduled for September 9.

On 16 June, Spanish police launched a coordinated operation under the sweeping guise of anti-terrorism laws, targeting the pair entirely for their administration of @Frontflict - a Telegram news channel dedicated to providing journalistic updates on the Middle East. These absurd charges are trumped-up accusations designed to exploit longstanding political prejudices against Basque activists and manufacture a narrative of guilt before trial.

Let us be completely unambiguous: @Frontflict is a news outlet, and documenting conflicts is the core function of journalism, not terrorism. Even Spanish National Court Judge José Luis Calama initially pushed back on the police files, describing them as a collection of "hypotheses and assumptions without objective basis". This overreach is part of a calculated pattern of state-sponsored intimidation, where more and more governments are weaponising legal networks to shield the perpetrators of war crimes and silence those documenting the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

To criminalise anti-Zionist reporting and public opposition to genocide is an existential threat to independent journalism globally as well as to free speech.

We stand unyielding in solidarity with Asier and Youssef, and we demand the immediate drop of all provisional charges and their total acquittal. 🇮🇷 | Drone activity was reported over Sulaymaniyah in northern Iraq before a series of direct strikes targeted the headquarters of Iranian Kurdish opposition groups in Sulaymaniyah, Dukan District, and Erbil in the Kurdistan Region.
