🇮🇷 | In a new development, Mr. Ebrahim Azizi has been re-elected as Chairman of the Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee for another one-year term.

During the elections for the committee’s leadership board in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Ebrahim Azizi secured another year as chairman. Abbas Moghtadaei, the representative of Isfahan, was elected as the First Vice Chairman, while Amir Hayat Moghaddam, the representative of Omidiyeh, Bandar Mahshahr, and Hendijan, was elected as the Second Vice Chairman.

The committee also elected Hassan Qashqavi as its spokesperson.

The government delegation's visit to Washington does not bind the Iraqi people to anything and perpetuates the project of American hegemony.

Indeed, what is happening in Iraq today requires a precise evaluation and a legitimate, national stance issued by the Ummah (Islamic nation) under the guidance of its aware and struggling scholars and religious authorities. It is not permissible for anyone to monopolize the decision, nor for the fate of the country to be left hostage to individual decisions, especially concerning existential issues that touch upon the existence of the Ummah, the rights of the Iraqi people, and their future.

What is happening in Iraq is not isolated from the major battle the Ummah is fighting; it is part of the battle of Gaza and Palestine, the battle of Lebanon and Yemen, the battle of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the rest of the resistance fronts, leading up to the major confrontation in which the Ummah is paying heavy prices for the sake of its renaissance and independence. Therefore, the blood of the martyrs and leaders who ascended in these arenas does not permit any party to offer concessions or compromise the rights of the Ummah in Iraq or elsewhere.

From this standpoint, the Iraqi government delegation's visit to the United States on the thirteenth of July—on the eve of the anniversary of the fourteenth of July, which was associated with liberation from foreign hegemony—is considered an unsuccessful and irresponsible visit. It raises serious questions regarding its timing and implications, especially in light of what American officials repeatedly announce, claiming credit for bringing many of the leaders to power.

This stance is not new; we have previously warned in 2006 of similar visits that took place during the aggression on Lebanon, and we considered their timing wrong then, just as we consider the timing of this visit wrong today as well.

In this context, we support all the national and struggling forces that announced their rejection of this visit, due to the ambiguity surrounding it and the fears it raises regarding its true objectives. Is the intention to open the door for American companies to tighten economic dominance over Iraq? Or to recycle the faces associated with the beginnings of corruption after the occupation? Or is it an attempt to compensate for the American retreat in the region by cementing Iraq's subordination to the American project?

These possibilities make the visit a subject of rejection and concern, because it comes in the context of attempts to re-establish American influence in Iraq, which is something the national forces cannot accept.
Hence, we advise the Prime Minister to beware of these pressures, for he does not possess the capability to decide fateful decisions, nor should he rely on parties that embellish policies for him that do not align with the interests of Iraq. Sincere advice is what we say here, and it is what preserves the homeland, whereas temptation and deception will only lead to more crises. As is well known, a wise person walks behind the one who advises him, not behind the one who tempts, deceives, and mocks him.

Accordingly, this visit does not bind the Iraqi people to anything, nor does it grant legitimacy to any economic or political projects leading to the expansion of American influence through its security or economic companies, or others, which will only be a front for the hegemony project. This would allow the transfer of Iraq's wealth outside its borders through projects unanimously agreed upon as detrimental to its strategic interests, foremost among them the Basra-Jordan-Aqaba oil project.

This project only serves the Zionist entity, in addition to its fatal damages to the interests of Iraq and its people, while Jordan reaps nothing from it but a functional role, achieving no real interest for its own people.

At the same time, we witness concerning stances from some Gulf countries, especially regarding the attacks on Iraqi fishermen. While we reject any historical transgressions on the sisterly state of Kuwait which is originally a small subordinate to Basra—this does not grant anyone the right to commit hostile acts against innocent Iraqi citizens. It is unfortunate that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls for restraint, while the Iraqi people demand a firm stance that preserves the sovereignty of the country and the dignity of its sons.

In conclusion: This visit will not change the stance of the Iraqi people in the slightest; rather, it will remain a part of the occupation project that we have confronted since its inception, and we will continue to confront it until its demise, God willing.

We clasp the hands of the sons of Iraq, intellectuals, and national figures, and we call upon the scholars to declare their stance clearly; for silence in such circumstances constitutes treasonous satisfaction regarding the rights and causes of the Ummah.

Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

Later, a statement describing his health was circulated; however, no such statement was officially published and was later exposed as false.

Later, two sons of Ayatullah Ali Sistani were seen, but not at the front as they are usually present. There was no official statement regarding the funeral of Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei, and the school is also silent over the issue of disarming the resistance forces and the ongoing visit of the Iraqi Prime Minister to meet Trump at a time when the region and Iran are burning under American aggression. It is indeed a disgrace for those who plan such visits.

This visit to America is somehow expanding the Aqaba pipeline, which will fully benefit the Israelis, and this is the project in which Trump allegedly wants to invest.

Suddenly, the official letters have somehow started using the name of Sayyid Reza Sistani in place of his father. This is a question that needs to be clarified.

The time has passed to remain silent over these issues. Whatever the issues may be, without touching, harming, or showing any disrespect to the noble sanctity of the scholars and religious authorities, these matters are still questionable because they are suspicious and must be clarified. Every second, new questions continue to arise.
