—The first funeral prayer will be offered over the body of the martyred leader, Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei (r).

—The second funeral prayer will be offered for Martyr Sayyidah Bushra Hosseini Khamenei, Martyr Dr. Misbah al Huda Bagheri Kani, and Martyr Zahra Haddad Adel.

—The third funeral prayer will be offered for Martyr Zahra Mohammadi Golpayegani, the martyred leader’s granddaughter.

Shortly before the funeral prayer at Imam Khomeini Musalla in Tehran, poet Mohammad Rasouli recited the following verses:

“Why should we not kill the one who killed my Imam?

It is our disgrace if we do not kill your killer.

From this day forward, the shroud replaces our garments.

By your blood, the killing of Trump rests upon our shoulders.”

The recitation took place shortly before the funeral prayer for the “Martyred Leader of Iran.”

🥀 | We were used to praying behind you, not over your body

The news is brief, yet heartbreaking.

They say: Come to the Musalla and offer the funeral prayer over your Leader.

Us? Over your body?

We were accustomed to standing behind you in prayer, not standing over you in prayer.

Wasn’t it meant to be that we would sacrifice ourselves for you?

Wasn’t it meant to be that we would be martyred, and you would lead the funeral prayer over us?

That was our hope.

Why did you go before us? May I be your ransom.

Why did you give your life before ours?

You have set our hearts ablaze.

What else can we do?

We will come.

Our feet are heavy with grief, but we will come.

We will come to testify, with all our hearts, that we saw nothing from you except goodness.

We will testify that you devoted your entire life to Islamic Iran.

You endured accusations, yet never complained.

And with your own blood, you signed the testimony that you were the truest leader Iran could have known.

We will come because we believe you are no less than Imam Khomeini (r).

We will come in the hope that, if only for a moment, we may breathe alongside the Baqiyyat Allah during your funeral prayer.

We will come in the hope that Allah sees the depth of our sorrow as we pray over the one who was dearer to us than our own lives, and in His mercy forgives us for the continued absence of His Wali.
