🇸🇾 | Shia massacres, mass displacement, and killings resume under Julani in occupied Syria:

The persecution, harassment, and targeting of Syria’s Shia community has entered a new and deeply alarming phase under the rule of Ahmed al Julani’s administration in occupied Syria. Following years of anti Shia harassment and systematic targeting by the regimes of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain, the globally recognized terrorist organization now ruling occupied Syria has begun implementing its own campaign of sectarian repression and demographic targeting. Reports emerging from multiple provinces indicate a pattern of forced displacement, arbitrary arrests, targeted killings, intimidation, and violence directed specifically against Shia civilians.

On the morning of Monday, June 29, 2026, vehicles and bulldozers belonging to Homs Province, escorted by General Security militias, entered Al Mazra’a, a predominantly Shia village situated west of the city of Homs, and demolished 10 homes. The demolition operation came after authorities had deliberately cut off water and electricity supplies to the village, while residents who remained were issued a 72 hour ultimatum to leave their homes. A widely circulated image of messages, allegedly distributed to General Security militia members and armed factions on Sunday, June 28, instructed them to clear the Al Mazra’a and Al Raqqa areas near the Al Waer neighborhood ahead of the planned demolitions on Monday, June 29. The messages explicitly stated that the operation was being conducted “on orders from Homs Province leadership.” Local sources reported that the demolitions were accompanied by verbal abuse, threats, and intimidation from General Security militia members, while residents and bystanders were prevented from filming the destruction. A delegation representing the villagers traveled to the Homs Province headquarters seeking intervention, but the governor appointed by the transitional government refused to receive them. As a result of what local sources describe as a sectarian displacement campaign, the approximately 1,000 families living in Al Mazra’a now face the prospect of forced expulsion from their ancestral homes. The timing of the demolitions is particularly significant, occurring only four days after the Shia commemoration of Ashura, one of the holiest and most solemn occasions in the Shia religious calendar.

The Syrian Transitional Government (STG) has attempted to justify demolition orders targeting Alawite neighborhoods around Damascus by claiming that the affected buildings were constructed on state owned land or lacked official permits. However, this justification does not withstand scrutiny when compared with realities across Syria. Large numbers of unlicensed and unauthorized neighborhoods in Damascus, Homs, and several other provinces are inhabited by Sunni residents, yet demolition laws are not enforced against them. What many Syrians increasingly view is the deliberate use of legal and regulatory mechanisms as a cover for sectarian displacement operations, creating the appearance of lawful urban planning while carrying out systematic demographic targeting against specific religious communities.

The campaign against Shia communities has extended beyond forced displacement into direct acts of violence and intimidation. In the village of Mraighan, a Shia village located in the Mukharam region of eastern rural Homs, Islamist militants launched an armed attack, firing their weapons indiscriminately at homes and civilians in an apparent attempt to spread fear and terror throughout the village. During the assault, an elderly man was injured. After reports of the attack reached authorities, the STG’s General Security forces arrived at the scene, but instead of arresting the armed militants responsible for the attack, they detained young men from the Shia village and transported them to their security headquarters, while allowing the attackers to leave without consequence.

Targeted killings of Shia civilians have also been reported in northern and southern Syria. In northern rural Aleppo, Diaa Faraj Hammoud, a Shia man from the town of Al Zahraa, was found murdered on June 14, 2026. Hammoud had been working as a night security guard at a stone quarry in the Al Tamourah area near his hometown when he was killed at his workplace.

Another assassination occurred in southern Syria near Damascus. Ali Hassan al Zaher, originally from the Bosra al Sham area in rural Daraa, belonged to the Shia community and lived in the Sayyida Zaynab neighborhood. On the evening of June 28, 2026, while returning home from work through the Sbeineh area south of Damascus, he was intercepted near the Al Buwayda area by two masked gunmen who opened fire and assassinated him. According to local sources, the attack was carried out in a targeted manner, adding to growing concerns over the security of Shia civilians across Syria.

🏴‍☠️| Iran’s swift response to the attempted terrorist infiltration and the possibility of cross border ground attacks has reportedly inflicted heavy losses on militant groups, significantly disrupting their operational structure and weakening their ranks. As a result, these groups are reportedly attempting to recruit new members through social media platforms. Among the groups reportedly most affected are branches of the Kurdish Democratic Party and Komala. Notably, these counterterrorism operations have received little attention in official statements and mainstream media coverage due to various strategic reasons.

🇮🇷: 🇮🇶 | Details of the funeral procession for the martyred Leader in Iraq and Iran announced:

Speaking at a press conference, the Secretary of the Funeral Committee for the martyred Leader of the Revolution said:

• On July 5, the funeral prayer for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution and his esteemed family will be held at Mosalla Imam Khomeini (r) in Tehran.

• On July 6, the funeral procession of the martyred Leader will take place in Tehran, with a massive turnout expected from across Iran as well as other countries in the region. The procession will follow an east to west corridor through the capital.

• The public has been urged to cooperate with organizers so that the city’s main thoroughfares, including Damavand Street, Imam Hossein Square, Enghelab Square, Azadi Square, Shahid Lashkari Expressway, Azadegan Expressway, and the parallel north-south roads of Tehran, can be effectively used for the procession, religious service camps (Mawakib), and mourning groups.

• The funeral prayer and procession for the revered Leader will be held on July 1 in the holy city of Qom. According to the official plan, the funeral prayer will take place at the Jamkaran Mosque.

• Given the vast venue and the open area extending from the Shrine of Hazrat Fatima Masumeh (S) to Jamkaran Mosque, a grand congregational funeral prayer is expected to be held under the leadership of one of Iran’s senior Grand Ayatollahs.

• Subject to operational and logistical conditions, the funeral procession will also be held in Qom. However, the funeral prayer will serve as the central event and the focal point of what organizers describe as a major international gathering in the holy city.

• The body of the martyred Leader will be transferred to Iraq on July 8.

• Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Zaidi is expected to officially receive the body at either Baghdad International Airport or Najaf International Airport.

A formal reception ceremony will be held at one of the two airports, attended by senior Iraqi officials, political leaders, military commanders, and prominent national figures, under the leadership of the Iraqi Prime Minister. The funeral procession will then officially commence.

🇮🇶 | The recent Reuters report on the establishment of operational cells by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) inside Iraq to carry out attacks against American interests and their Gulf allies carries implications that go beyond a simple security assessment.

According to the report, these cells represent a structure operating in parallel with the well known Iraqi resistance factions. They were allegedly created to reduce the intelligence footprint of such operations and provide greater plausible deniability for those directing them.

The report states that the network consists of three to four cells, each made up of around ten Iraqi fighters. It alleges that these cells were responsible for at least seven drone attacks carried out between April 20 and May 17, targeting sites in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, with the drones reportedly launched from desert areas near Basra and Samawah.

Reuters further claims that while some members of these cells have organizational links to the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, their operations are conducted independently of the traditional command structures of the established factions. The report also points to the emergence of relatively unfamiliar groups that have claimed responsibility for some of these attacks, suggesting that these names may serve as covers for existing organizations.

One such example appears to fit Reuters’ assessment regarding the use of new names to conceal the activities of established networks. Based on the circumstances and the timing of the operation, it is considered likely that the group known as “Abu Hashem al-Iraqi” is linked to the Kataib Hezbollah (Hezbollah Brigades), particularly because the attack followed the killing of three Kataib Hezbollah members in Basra.

The attacks targeting the UAE and Saudi Arabia are believed to include the May 17 drone strike against the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the UAE, as well as a simultaneous attack involving three drones against targets inside Saudi Arabia on the same day. According to the report, both countries stated that the drones had originated from Iraqi territory.

The Al-Wa’d al-Haq Brigade, one of the media and operational fronts associated with Iraqi resistance factions, had previously threatened to target the UAE’s Barakah nuclear facility on March 11, explicitly referring to the use of drones.

Just one day after the ceasefire, on April 9, Kuwait was reportedly targeted by drones launched from Iraqi territory. The following day, a group calling itself “Abu Hashem al-Iraqi” claimed responsibility for the attack. The author argues that this incident also supports Reuters’ assertion that newly created group names are being used to mask the activities of existing organizations.

The available information further suggests that the concept of establishing these operational cells did not originate with the recent conflict but dates back to an earlier period. However, according to the author, the decisive turning point came with the outbreak of the war and the subsequent killing of Qassem Soleimani, after which the first group of IRGC Quds Force officers reportedly entered Iraq.

Following the start of the conflict, Iraqi resistance factions significantly expanded their operations. The author states that on February 28, the factions announced in an official statement that they had carried out 16 operations using dozens of drones both inside and outside Iraq, only hours after the announcement of Soleimani’s death.

According to the author, some Iraqi security institutions possessed intelligence indicating that several Iranian officers had been stationed in safe houses located in Baghdad, Najaf, Diyala, and Basra. One of these locations, in Baghdad’s Jadriya district, was reportedly targeted in an attack that resulted in the death of a senior Iranian adviser known as Hajj Abdullah.

The author claims that, following that incident, relations between the Iraqi resistance factions and Iraq’s intelligence service entered an unprecedented period of tension.
😱13🫡3👍1🙏1
Allegations that had previously been discussed privately reportedly evolved into public accusations directed at a number of intelligence officers.

In the author’s assessment, this broader context cannot be separated from the information presented in the Reuters report. The report’s detailed discussion of organizational structures and operational locations, the author argues, suggests that its sources may be connected in some way to the internal dispute that emerged after the targeting of the Iranian officers’ location and the subsequent exchange of accusations between the involved parties.

🇮🇷 | Footage of the martyred granddaughter of Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei (r), Zahra Mohammadi Golpayegani (r), has been released publicly for the first time.

Zahra was 14 months old. She was the daughter of Imam Khamenei’s eldest daughter, Sayyidah Boshra Sadat Khamenei, and Hujjat al-Islam Shaykh Javad Golpayegani. Her paternal grandfather, Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Mohammadi Golpayegani, served for many years as the Chief of Staff of Imam Ali Khamenei’s office. According to available accounts, firefighters recovered her body the following day from beneath the rubble, where she was found burned and crushed under the collapsed structure.

She was deeply beloved by Imam Ali Khamenei (r), being among the youngest of his grandchildren. Whenever he was free from his duties, he would often hold her in his lap for long periods and spend time with her. In a profound sense, Imam Khamenei (r), who spent decades consoling and standing alongside the families of countless children martyrs, ultimately offered one of his own most beloved grandchildren on the very same path of sacrifice.
