🇱🇧 | Statement issued by Hezbollah on the anniversary of the “agreement of humiliation and disgrace” of May 17: (1/2)

The 43rd anniversary of the Agreement of Humiliation and Disgrace signed on May 17, 1983 comes amid extremely dangerous Lebanese and regional conditions, due to the escalating American-Israeli aggression against our region and our country, along with the continued Zionist occupation of our land and the ongoing crimes of killing, destruction, and bulldozing in parts of our country, especially in the south, as well as the complete violation of our airspace and waters and the roaming assassinations targeting civilians and resistance fighters from among the sons of the nation.

At a time when there are attempts to reproduce something even more dangerous and deviant than the May 17 Agreement through discussions of a “full and comprehensive” peace agreement between the Lebanese authority and the Zionist entity, the enemy of the land, the people, the culture, and history, the Lebanese authority would be drifting far astray and disregarding the lessons and examples of history. It would effectively absolve the enemy of its aggression and occupation and treat it as though it were a peaceful and recognized entity. This would constitute a clear and scandalous violation of the Lebanese constitution and laws, and a complete betrayal of Lebanon’s history, culture, the sacrifices of its people, their steadfastness, and the greatness of its resistance.

In light of these dangerous developments, Hezbollah affirms the following:

First, Hezbollah completely rejects any dictates, pressures, or foreign tutelage, American or otherwise, that seek to forcibly impose upon Lebanon a path and destiny that undermine its sovereignty, independence, and dignity, and that contradict the most basic national principles and constants around which all Lebanese are supposed to unite.

What the enemy’s leaders openly declare regarding their settlement projects in Lebanese territory confirms the enemy’s fixed ambitions toward our land, waters, and natural resources. It also confirms that the enemy seeks to strip Lebanon of its sources of strength and resources. Accepting direct negotiations with the enemy would only contribute to strengthening and increasing Israeli gains at the expense of Lebanon and its people.

Second, we call on the Lebanese authority not to go too far down deviant paths with the enemy because of the dangerous consequences this would have on stability in Lebanon as both a state and a society. We also call on it to stop the series of free concessions and the scenario of abandoning rights and the dignity of the homeland, for which it is legally entrusted. We demand that it place the national interest first and abandon the illusion that it is possible to reach a peace agreement with this usurping, greedy, and occupying enemy.

Third, the major question raised today by the Lebanese in general, and the people of the south in particular, toward the Lebanese authority is: what has its involvement in this path of concessions achieved for Lebanon since the ceasefire agreement of 27 November 2024? What did its disastrous decisions on August 5 and August 7, and its acceptance of civilian participation in the mechanism, followed by direct negotiations, achieve? What has Lebanon and its people gained from this path other than more pressure, concessions, aggression, and destruction?

The authority pursued this path under the pretext that it was the only way to stop the ceasefire violations and Israeli attacks, despite the constitutional violations involved and the absence of national consensus around it.

Today, after a month of continuing down this path, what has it achieved for Lebanon? Instead of retreating from this option, it is preparing to move toward a political and security track, thereby adding more free concessions to those already offered to the enemy, which responds after every round of negotiations by escalating its attacks, expanding the scope of its targeting of Lebanese villages and towns, continuing to kill Lebanese citizens, destroy their homes, and violate Lebanese sovereignty. Many Lebanese have now come to see the extension of the ceasefire through this path as merely an extension of the ongoing killing of their people and a cover for aggression against them and their homeland.

Fourth, we call on the Lebanese authority to cooperate within the framework of national consensus in order to achieve the national constants represented by securing the complete withdrawal of the enemy from all Lebanese territories, ending the aggression completely and permanently, liberating our heroic prisoners, ensuring the immediate return of our people to their villages and towns with dignity and honor, and rebuilding without restrictions, conditions, or obstacles of any kind.

Fifth, Hezbollah affirms that the Zionist occupation will never be able to settle permanently on our land as long as this brave resistance, its heroic fighters, its sacrificing and courageous people, all national forces, and all honorable free people from every sect and region of this country continue to exist.

The dawn of liberation, freedom, and full independence will rise, whether sooner or later, and Lebanon will once again become sovereign, free, and independent.

“Among the believers are men who have been true to what they pledged to Allah. Some of them have fulfilled their vow, and some still await, and they have never changed in the least.”

Allah the Most High has spoken the truth.

Hezbollah strongly condemns the horrific crime committed by the Israeli enemy in the Gaza Strip, which led to the martyrdom of the Commander-in-Chief of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, Commander Shaheed Izz al Din al Haddad (r), known as “Abu Suhaib.” He was martyred together with his wife, daughter, and a number of Palestinian civilians, while dozens of innocent people were also wounded in the treacherous aggression that took place in central Gaza.

This attack constitutes a blatant violation of ceasefire agreements and exposes the extent of the enemy’s disregard for and betrayal of every pledge and commitment it makes. It confirms that its thirst for bloodshed governs its thinking and actions, and that all negotiations and agreements it signs are nothing more than a waste of time.

As we mourn the heroic commander al-Haddad as a noble martyr, and express our pride in the immense sacrifices he offered on the path of jihad and resistance, we extend our deepest condolences and congratulations to the leadership of Hamas, to the Palestinian people, to the family of the martyred commander, and to the families of all the martyrs who fell in this criminal aggression. We ask Allah to grant them mercy and the highest ranks, and to grant the wounded a swift recovery.

The martyrdom of Commander al-Haddad is a new badge of honor for Hamas, which repeatedly proves that it remains firmly rooted on the path of jihad and resistance. The assassination of its leaders does not weaken it, but instead increases its strength, presence, and determination to remain steadfast and continue the confrontation.

The martyred commander al-Haddad achieved what he had aspired to throughout his life, as Allah honored him and concluded his blessed life with martyrdom drenched in blood, which is the aspiration of every mujahid and resistance fighter in this nation.

These great sacrifices made and still being made by Hamas, all the mujahideen factions, and the great and heroic Palestinian people will bring nothing to this nation and to Palestine except a final outcome of honor, victory, and dignity, by the will of Allah. Indeed, He is the best protector and the best supporter.

🇧🇭 | Bahrainis commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Al Jawad (A):

Bahrainis marked the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Al Jawad (A); the ninth Imam from Ahlulbayt, through walking mourning processions across several regions, including Al Daraz, the Old Town, Al Aliy, Sanabis, Sar, Al Jufair, and Al Malikiyah. Participants in the processions also chanted slogans and raised statements condemning the inhumane treatment of Shia communities by the Bahraini regime.

According to information obtained by Al-Akhbar, the presence of numerous naval vessels has been recorded off the Lebanese coast. Among them were the French “Aquitaine Class” destroyer for aerial target detection and surveillance, and the British “Daring” destroyer, which operates the “S1850” radar system for detecting long-range aerial targets.

In addition, a German destroyer, frigate, and minesweeper were also present, alongside the Italian destroyer “ANDREA Doria,” which is equipped with the “S1850” radar system, as well as the Greek “Hydra Class” frigate tasked with monitoring aerial activity.

Naturally, the presence of Israeli warships and naval vessels of the “Sa’ar 5” and “Sa’ar 6” classes was also recorded, in addition to the American destroyer “Arleigh Burke” positioned off the coast of occupied Palestine. The vessel relies on the “Aegis” system for detecting and intercepting ballistic missiles, along with several reconnaissance and support ships.

Al-Akhbar presented this information to UNIFIL military public information officer Major Raffaele Avolio, who denied any connection between these naval deployments and UNIFIL. This means the vessels remain assets of the national navies of the countries concerned, operating either under their own missions or within the framework of NATO.

This naval presence raises questions regarding the nature of its roles, particularly concerning the activation of “network-centric warfare” in naval operations, and the possibility of strengthening early warning systems and air defenses in favor of the Israeli enemy through target detection and tracking, or even the possibility of direct military or technical interception.

Such a scenario reportedly occurred during the 2024 aggression, when a German destroyer contributed to intercepting a resistance drone.

• Osama Hamdan stated that one of the goals behind targeting Al Haddad was to pressure the resistance movement into surrendering, adding that the occupation is not concerned with Trump’s plan.

• He said contacts are ongoing with mediators regarding the assassination of Al Haddad, stressing that the agreement included a halt to military operations and field actions, while accusing the enemy of violating the agreement.

• Hamdan stated that the movement’s priority remains the interests of the Palestinian people, adding that if negotiations obstruct those interests, the movement will take a position that serves the people.

• He warned that if the occupation escalates its aggression, there will be a Palestinian response and a wider regional reaction.

• Hamdan further stated that the enemy understands that Palestinian weapons, despite their simplicity, continue to serve as a deterrent, which is why it demands their surrender.

• He stressed that no Palestinian would accept surrendering weapons or declaring defeat.

• Hamdan also revealed that Hamas sent a message to Fatah calling for dialogue on the basis of a resistant national project aimed at achieving the freedom of the Palestinian people.

With all verses of pride, steadfastness, and defiance, the Martyr Izz El-Din Al-Qassam Brigades mourns to our people, the masses of our nation, and all the free people, the martyrdom of one of its most prominent figures and great leaders, and a pioneer in the path of jihad and resistance against the occupation, who exhausted the enemy and taught it harsh lessons:

The great martyred commander, Izz El-Din Al-Haddad, "Abu Suhayb," Chief of Staff of the Martyr Izz El-Din Al-Qassam Brigades.

He ascended as a martyr in a cowardly assassination operation carried out by the criminal enemy, which respects neither agreements nor covenants. A crime that resulted in his martyrdom, along with his wife, his daughter, and a number of our struggling people. Our commander and his wife join their two martyred sons, Suhayb and Mu'min, who ascended during the Al-Aqsa Flood battle, advancing and not retreating. We ask Allah to accept all the martyrs of our people and to grant healing to our brave wounded.

It was time for this roaring lion to rest after decades of jihad, resistance, and hunting the enemies, which culminated in his prominent role in the glorious crossing of the seventh of October, and his leadership of the defensive battle in the Gaza Brigade, whose men inflicted woes upon the enemy, as did all our mujahideen brigades. This continued until he led the Qassam General Staff, succeeding the two great martyrs, Mohammed Deif and Mohammed Al-Sinwar, in a highly sensitive and critical phase during which he succeeded in leading the battle with full competence, achieving important accomplishments that culminated in the liberation of hundreds of prisoners from the occupation's prisons.

The title of martyr is the well-deserved title that every one of our fighters wishes for, let alone our leaders, who spent their lives on this path and sought martyrdom in its proper places. This criminal enemy is delusional if it believes that the departure of great leaders will stop our march. The caravan of our people's martyrs has not stopped for nearly a century, and the enemies have reaped from killing them nothing but temporary euphoria, followed by disappointment and disgrace, and new generations of heroes who carry in their hearts the love of the homeland, the covenant of the martyrs, and the determination for revenge.

The continuous crimes of the occupation, the latest of which was the crime of assassinating the great commander "Abu Suhayb," are the best witness and evidence of the criminality of this enemy that breaks covenants, which has exceeded all limits, disregarding every agreement and caring not for mediators or others. But this pure blood will not go in vain, by the permission of Allah. Leaders will be succeeded by leaders, and the march of our people will continue until the liberation of the land and the people, and the purification of Al-Aqsa from the filth of the usurpers. "And they ask you, 'When is that?' Say, 'Perhaps it is near.'"

It is a jihad of victory or martyrdom.

🇮🇷 | The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran strongly condemns the terrorist act committed by the brutal Zionist regime in assassinating Izz al-Din Haddad, the Commander-in-Chief of the Qassam Brigades, along with his wife and child. It extends its congratulations and condolences on the martyrdom of this great mujahid and his family in the path of the divine and humanitarian cause of Palestine to the leadership of Hamas, the steadfast and struggling Palestinian people, and all Muslims and free people around the world.

This terrorist act, along with similar assassinations, is part of Israel’s criminal project aimed at the colonial erasure of Palestine. The United States, as the largest military, financial, and political supporter of the Zionist apartheid regime, is complicit in each and every one of these crimes.

The cowardly assassination of Palestinian leaders and intellectual figures is a clear sign of the desperation and helplessness of a regime which, despite committing some of the most horrific crimes and massacring hundreds of thousands of innocent people over the past eight decades, has failed to extinguish the spirit of resistance against occupation, apartheid, and brutal colonialism in the minds and hearts of the Palestinian people. As a result, Palestinians are now more determined than ever to continue their struggle for their human rights, especially the right to self-determination.

Without a doubt, the physical martyrdoms of resistance leaders and Palestinian intellectual figures will not weaken the school and path of resistance. Rather, it will inspire future followers and mujahideen on the path of dignity and the liberation of Palestine.
