🇮🇷 | First Statement of Imam Mujtaba Khamenei (H)

At the beginning of my remarks, I must offer my condolences to my master—may God hasten his reappearance—on the heartbreaking martyrdom of the great leader of the Revolution, the wise and beloved Khamenei. I ask him to pray for each and every member of the great nation of Iran, indeed for all Muslims of the world, for all servants of Islam and the Revolution, for the self-sacrificing fighters and the families of the martyrs of the Islamic movement—especially those of the recent war—and also for this humble servant.

The second part of my remarks is addressed to the great nation of Iran. First, I must briefly explain my position regarding the vote of the honorable Assembly of Experts. This servant of yours, Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, learned of the result of the vote at the same time as you, through the broadcasting of the Islamic Republic.

For me, sitting in the place once occupied by two great leaders—the great Khomeini and the martyred Khamenei—is a difficult task. This seat has been occupied by someone who, after more than sixty years of struggle in the path of God and renouncing all kinds of pleasures and comforts, became a shining jewel and a distinguished figure not only in our era but throughout the history of the rulers of this country. Both his life and the manner of his death were intertwined with the grandeur and dignity that came from reliance on the Truth.

I had the honor of seeing his body after his martyrdom. What I saw was a mountain of firmness, and I heard that his healthy hand was clenched into a fist. Those who know the various aspects of his personality must speak about them for a long time. Here I suffice with this brief mention and leave the details for other appropriate occasions. This is why taking the seat of leadership after such a person is difficult; bridging this gap is possible only with the help of God and the support of you, the people.

I must also emphasize a point directly related to my remarks. One of the arts of the martyred leader and his great predecessor was bringing the people into every arena, giving them constant awareness and insight, and relying on their strength in practice. In this way they actualized the true meaning of the republic and republicanism and sincerely believed in it.

The clear effect of this was seen in these few days when the country was without a leader and without a commander-in-chief. The insight and intelligence of the great Iranian nation in the recent events, and its steadfastness and courage, amazed enemies and earned admiration from friends. It was you, the people, who led the country and guaranteed its strength.

The verse cited at the beginning of this writing means that no sign of God ends or is forgotten except that God replaces it with something similar or better.

The purpose of citing this verse is not to claim that this servant is equal to the martyred leader—let alone superior to him—but rather to draw attention to the prominent role of the people. If that great blessing was taken from us, another blessing was granted in its place: the Ammar-like presence of the Iranian nation.

—Imam Mujtaba Khamenei's first statement (part 2)

Know that if your power does not appear in the field, neither the leadership nor any governmental institution—whose real function is to serve the people—will have the necessary effectiveness.

To achieve this:

First, reliance upon God and the pure lights of the infallible ones must be regarded as the greatest elixir guaranteeing victory.

Second, unity among all segments of the nation must not be damaged.

Third, the effective presence of the people must continue in all arenas—social, political, cultural, educational, and even security.

Fourth, people must continue helping one another, especially in difficult days.

If these matters are observed, the path toward days of greatness and glory will be opened, and victory in the current war may be its nearest manifestation.

The third part of my remarks is sincere gratitude to our brave fighters who have blocked the enemy and shattered its illusion of dominating or dividing our country.

Dear fighters! The will of the people is continued effective and regret-inducing defense. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz must also continue to be used as leverage. Studies have also been conducted regarding opening other fronts in which the enemy has little experience and will be highly vulnerable.

I also sincerely thank the fighters of the Axis of Resistance. The countries of the resistance front are our best friends. The resistance front is inseparable from the values of the Islamic Revolution. The cooperation of its members shortens the path to overcoming the Zionist plot. As we saw, brave Yemen continued defending the oppressed people of Gaza, Hezbollah stood by the Islamic Republic, and the resistance of Iraq courageously followed the same path.

Third part

The fourth part of my remarks addresses those who have suffered in recent days—those who lost loved ones, those who were injured, and those whose homes or businesses were damaged.

I express deep sympathy to the families of the martyrs. I too share this experience: besides my father whose loss became a national grief, I lost my beloved wife, my devoted sister, her young child, and my other sister’s husband.

What makes patience possible is the certainty of God’s promise of reward for the patient.

I assure you that we will not abandon the revenge for the blood of your martyrs. Every member of the nation martyred by the enemy is a separate case of revenge. Some of this revenge has already occurred, but until it is complete the case will remain open—especially regarding the blood of our children.

The enemy’s crime against the Shajareh-Tayyebeh school in Minab will receive special attention.

The wounded must receive free treatment and benefits, and the government must compensate material damages as much as possible.

I also emphasize: we will take war reparations from the enemy; if they refuse, we will seize or destroy equivalent assets.

Fourth Part

The fifth part addresses leaders of some regional countries. Iran shares borders with fifteen neighbors and seeks warm relations with them. However, the enemy has built military bases in some of these countries.

During the recent attack, those bases were used, so we struck the bases themselves without attacking the countries hosting them. If necessary, we will continue to do so.

These countries should determine their position regarding the aggressors against our nation. I recommend they close those bases quickly, because the claim that the United States brings security and peace has proven false.

The Islamic Republic seeks friendly cooperation with all neighbors without domination or colonial ambitions.

The sixth part addresses our martyred leader.

Leader! Your departure left a heavy grief in all hearts. You always longed for this end, and God granted it to you while you were reciting the Qur’an on the morning of the tenth of Ramadan. You endured many injustices with patience and dignity.

Many did not know your true worth, and perhaps much time must pass before the veils are lifted and your greatness becomes clearer.

We hope that from your elevated station among the righteous, martyrs, and saints you continue to pray for the progress of this nation and the nations of the resistance front.

We pledge to continue striving with all our strength for the cause you raised.

The seventh part expresses thanks to all who supported me—grand religious authorities, scholars, political and social figures, and the people who gathered to renew their allegiance to the system.

May God’s special grace encompass the nation of Iran, all Muslims, and the oppressed of the world.

Finally, I ask our master—the awaited Imam—to pray during the remaining nights of Ramadan that our nation achieves decisive victory over the enemy and receives honor, prosperity, and well-being.

Statement Issued by the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF)

The Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) express their firm rejection and strong condemnation of the criminal airstrikes that targeted their official headquarters in several Iraqi provinces. These attacks were carried out by American aircraft and constitute a blatant aggression, a serious violation of Iraq’s sovereignty, and a clear infringement upon its official security institutions.

These attacks targeted PMF headquarters in the provinces of Diyala, Kirkuk, Anbar, Nineveh, Salah al-Din, Wasit, and Babil. These are official facilities operating within Iraq’s security system and in full coordination with the Joint Operations Command.

The total number of strikes reached 32 airstrikes. Since the beginning of this month until now, these attacks have resulted in the martyrdom of 27 fighters and the injury of 50 others from the PMF who were performing their national duty to defend Iraq and ensure its security and stability. Among them were 9 martyrs and 10 wounded in the airstrikes that occurred today.

We affirm that these headquarters had no role in targeting American bases inside or outside Iraq. Those who were martyred were innocent fighters carrying out their official duties, and some of them were stationed on the borders to protect Iraq’s sovereignty and security.

The Popular Mobilization Forces, as an essential part of the Iraqi state’s security structure, reaffirm their full commitment to the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and they operate under direct and continuous coordination with the Joint Operations Command in carrying out all their security and military duties.

In light of these serious attacks, the PMF call on all political forces to take a firm national stance and adopt clear measures to stop these repeated assaults targeting our heroic security forces, which represent a direct violation of the country’s sovereignty and the dignity of its security institutions.

The PMF also affirm that the blood of the martyrs will not be shed in vain, and that these attacks will not deter the PMF fighters from continuing their national and constitutional duty to protect Iraq and its people. The sons of the PMF will remain, as the Iraqi people know them, a strong fortress and a steadfast barrier against terrorism and against anyone who attempts to undermine Iraq’s security, stability, and sovereignty.

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Statements and Military Announcements

1. IRGC: The 41st wave of Operation “Al-Waad Al-Sadeq 4” began at 09:00, targeting the Zionist entity and American positions. Strikes reportedly targeted American troop gathering sites on Sheikh Zayed Street and Ahmed Al-Jaber Airport using a “Fattah” supersonic missile with precise guidance. The Al-Zafra base, the US Marine Corps headquarters, and mobile US bases in Iraq were also subjected to continuous and directed shelling, while Zionist command gathering sites in Tel Aviv were targeted. General Staff of the Armed Forces and Khatm al-Anbiya Central Command: In response to the orders of the Supreme Commander, the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran renewed their allegiance to Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, declaring that all commanders, fighters, and their families will use their full capabilities under his leadership to achieve the goals of the Islamic Revolution.

4. IRGC Navy: Public relations announced two waves of missile and drone strikes against the US 5th Fleet base at Mina Salman port. According to the statement, the attacks hit the Leeds anti-drone system, USV storage and deployment centers, support equipment facilities, and fuel tanks using suicide drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles. The IRGC added that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed.

Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran: The army stated that it received the orders of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and renewed its pledge of allegiance, declaring it will fight until the last breath alongside the IRGC to defend Iran’s independence and territorial integrity, and avenge the blood of the martyred leader, commanders, and citizens.

Iranian Army Operation: In a qualitative air operation, the army reported that swarms of modern strike aircraft targeted multiple sites, including watchtowers and runways at Palmachim airbase, air defense systems such as David’s Sling, Hermes drone storage facilities, and Ovda airbase in the Negev, described as a base hosting American F-22 fighters. The operation also reportedly struck the Shin Bet security headquarters.

Commander of Khatm al-Anbiya Central Headquarters: Major General Pilot Ali Abdollahi stated that the message from Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei strengthened morale among the armed forces, adding that Iran’s forces will implement his commands in all fields and force the enemies to pay the price for their crimes.
