🇮🇶 | The Office of Sayyid Ali al-Sistani (H) issues an official statement condemning the war:

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful

The military aggression on Iranian territory has persisted for several days, resulting in the martyrdom of a large number of citizens, including many heroes defending their country, dozens of children, and other innocent civilians, in addition to significant damage to public and private property. As anticipated, the scope of counter-military operations has expanded to other countries, causing damage to regions and facilities in ways rarely seen in the region for a long time.

The unilateral decision, taken outside the framework of the United Nations Security Council, to launch a comprehensive war against another UN member state to impose conditions or overthrow its political system, in violation of international covenants, is an extremely dangerous act and portends serious consequences at regional and international levels. It is expected to provoke widespread chaos and unrest over a prolonged period, bringing calamities to the people of the region and affecting the interests of others as well.

Therefore, the Supreme Religious Authority, while condemning this unjust war in the strongest terms and calling on all Muslims and free people of the world to denounce it and stand in solidarity with the oppressed Iranian people, reiterates its appeal to all international actors and world states, particularly Islamic countries, to exert every effort to halt the aggression immediately and to find a peaceful and just resolution to the Iranian nuclear issue in accordance with international law.

Imam Khamenei (r) on 27 December 2025 wrote to the Union of Islamic Student Associations in Europe:

The issue is not about nuclear matters or similar topics. The issue is confronting the unjust order and the coercive domination of the hegemonic system in today’s world, and turning toward a just national and international Islamic system.
