However, the people of the great Islamic Iran should know that in the legal system and Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran, there is no ambiguity regarding this matter, and detailed measures have been foreseen.

Chapter Eight of the Constitution concerns the leadership, its selection, and the formation of the temporary leadership council.

Selecting a new leader is the duty of the Assembly of Experts. According to Article 111 of the Constitution, until the Assembly convenes and elects a new leader, the temporary leadership council—composed of the President, the Head of the Judiciary, and one of the jurists of the Guardian Council—will temporarily handle leadership affairs.
