🇺🇸:🇮🇳:🇻🇪 | US convincing India to buy “stolen” Venezuelan oil is emerging as part of ongoing diplomatic and trade discussions between United States and India. Washington says the talks are aimed at helping India diversify its crude supply, with U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor confirming active discussions on facilitating Venezuelan oil sales.

The discussions are linked to an interim trade arrangement in which Donald Trump reduced tariffs on Indian goods to 18% after New Delhi pledged to scale back purchases of Russian oil. Meanwhile, Indian refiners including Indian Oil Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum, Bharat Petroleum, Reliance Industries, and HPCL-Mittal Energy have reportedly already placed orders for Venezuelan crude.

🇮🇷 | Dr. Abbas Araghchi: There is no deadline:

We only discussed with each other how we can reach a quick agreement. A fast agreement is something both sides are interested in.

We are under sanctions. Obviously, the sooner the sanctions are lifted, the better it is for us. Therefore, we have no reason to delay a possible agreement or waste time; we have absolutely no such intention.

The Americans are also interested in a quick agreement, so we agreed to work together to reach an agreement as soon as possible.

The only question is how to turn it into a fair agreement — a win-win and just deal, which is the difficult part of the matter.

Obviously, both sides have their own interests and concerns, and our task is to find a solution that takes into account the interests and concerns of both sides. We are doing our job, so let us diplomats work together and find a diplomatic solution.
