In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the worlds. Blessings and peace be upon the noblest of creation, our master, beloved, and leader Abul-Qasim Muhammad (A), upon his pure and immaculate Household (A), his righteous and chosen Companions (A), and upon all the prophets and the righteous (A) until the Day of Judgment.
Peace be upon you, and Allah’s mercy and blessings.
Today we gather at the ceremony of the Islamic Institution for Education and Learning, Imam al-Mahdi Schools (A), on the thirty-third anniversary of the establishment of this institution and its schools. This obliges us to begin by speaking about Imam al-Mahdi (A), because this anniversary is connected to the blessed birth of the Imam of the Age, Imam al-Mahdi (A). We consider this occasion to be the foundation, the source, and the point of departure. Therefore, I will speak about three matters: first, the anniversary of the birth of Imam al-Mahdi (A); second, the thirty-third anniversary of the Islamic Institution for Education and Learning; and third, the general political situation.
I begin with the birth of Imam al-Mahdi (A). From where do we begin? We begin with faith in Almighty Allah as the One and Only Creator who created all of humanity, and who sent the prophets and messengers. The Seal and Master of the Prophets and Messengers is the Prophet Muhammad (A), whom Allah sent with the message of Islam through the Holy Qur’an. Likewise, the narrations, hadiths, and stances taken by the Messenger of Allah (A) were a practical embodiment of what Allah intended. Hence the saying:
“Nor does he speak from his own desire; it is nothing but revelation sent down,” meaning that whatever the Prophet Muhammad (A) says is from Allah, whether expressed through words or actions.
From here, when we return to the Holy Qur’an and to the noble Prophetic traditions, we find that they affirm the existence of a man who will appear at the end of time, Imam al-Mahdi (A). This is a matter of consensus among Muslims, both Sunnis and Shi‘a alike, based on the Qur’an and the Prophetic traditions. Muslims unanimously agree that Imam al-Mahdi will appear at the end of time. The difference is that the Shi‘a, in particular, believe that the appearance of Imam al-Mahdi (A) refers to an existing person, Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Mahdi, born from the lineage of the Messenger of Allah (A), from the lineage of Fatimah al-Zahra (A), through the lineage of Imam al-Husayn (A), descending from the Commander of the Faithful Ali (A), until we reach Imam al-Mahdi (A), the twelfth Imam of the Imams of the Ahl al-Bayt (A). He was born in the year 255 AH, entered occultation from public view in the year 329 AH, remains in occultation by the will of Allah, and will reappear one day.

(2/10):
I will not discuss whether this long life is possible or impossible. No. It is possible, because this is the will of Allah the Exalted, and this is His decision. How do we believe in this matter? We believe through the Qur’anic verses and the narrations. Therefore, the discussion is not about these details. Rather, the fundamental discussion must be about the existence of Imam al-Mahdi (A). He said:
“Indeed, Pharaoh exalted himself in the land and divided its people into factions, oppressing a group among them, slaughtering their sons and sparing their women. Indeed, he was of the corrupters. And We intended to bestow favor upon those who were oppressed in the land, and to make them leaders, and to make them the inheritors.”
From this noble verse, specifically His saying, “And We intended to bestow favor upon those who were oppressed in the land, and to make them leaders, and to make them the inheritors,” we understand, according to the narrations that interpret it, that it is an expression of the promise of the appearance of Imam al-Mahdi (A).
In a narration from the Messenger of Allah (A), he said:
“The Mahdi is from my descendants. He will have an occultation and a period of confusion during which nations will go astray. He will come with the legacy of the prophets, and he will fill the earth with justice and equity just as it had been filled with oppression and injustice.”
This is a clear statement, explicitly naming him and identifying his lineage. Accordingly, we believe in the promise of Allah to us that Imam al-Mahdi (A) will appear. This promise gives us determination and strength. We are required to believe in it as part of our faith in Allah, in the Messenger (A), and in the Islamic system, because this has been transmitted from the Prophet and from the interpretation of the Qur’anic verses.
The second matter is that this world is full of great trials, and the tests that occur in it cause a person to live through difficult and complex situations. Allah has informed us that this world is a place of trial, testing, examination, and eventual passing away. This means that whoever expects to be completely at ease in this world will not find such comfort. So what should we do? Allah said that when you face trials, be patient and endure, because one day you will be rewarded by Allah on the Day of Resurrection. But Allah the Exalted wanted to grant us an additional gift. He said that even in this world, when you find hardships closing in on you, disbelief spreading, and oppression spreading, do not think that this will continue forever. Even in this world, although the scene may appear as though deviation prevails, arrogance dominates, and all these oppressive forces seem to be in control, Allah says no. Even in this world there is a divine promise of victory. Not just any victory, but a decisive, great, and influential victory that will overturn the balance on the level of all humanity from beginning to end. “He will fill the earth with justice and equity after it had been filled with oppression and injustice.” This promise is extremely important. It means that the trials we see should be dealt with as temporary trials, or at least trials that continue for some people for a period of time, while others will be victorious with this great victory, in addition to the partial victories that occur before it.
Allah the Exalted said:
“Or did you think that you would enter Paradise while there has not yet come to you the example of those who passed on before you? They were afflicted with hardship and adversity and were shaken until the Messenger and those who believed with him said, ‘When is the help of Allah?’ Indeed, the help of Allah is near.”
The promise of victory exists alongside all trials and all difficulties. Today we witness complexities in the world, and we ask: is it still possible to succeed? Is it possible to achieve a great victory? Yes, you will be victorious, Allah willing. And this victory is apart from the great victory that will occur with Imam al-Mahdi (A).

The third important point is that this hope we possess gives us additional motivation. Even if hope did not exist, we would still be required to be religious and patient, because this world is a place of trial. But the Lord of the worlds wants to honor us and give us more. He says no, this hope must exist within you. What does this hope do? It gives us motivation, confidence, and greater courage. It makes us confront challenges no matter how difficult they are, because even in this world there is the possibility, since we have been promised, that Imam al-Mahdi (A) will appear.
What, then, is the condition of the believers? The condition of the believers is that these individuals are distinguished during the absence of the Messenger and during the absence of the Imams (A) altogether. Meaning that when they are in a state of absence, they will have a special capacity, rank, and esteem with Allah the Exalted. In the noble hadith from the Messenger of Allah (A), he said, addressing his companions:
“There will come a people after you. There will come a people after you, and one man among them will have the reward of fifty of you.”
They said, “O Messenger of Allah, we were with you at Badr, Hunayn, and Uhud, the Qur’an was revealed among us, and we are your companions. All of this happened with your presence and your existence.”
He (A) replied, “If you were to bear what they will bear, you would not endure with their patience.”
Meaning that you, the people of today who live across the globe in this era, who witness disbelief, deviation, and oppression attempting to dominate, committing the most horrific crimes, massacres, atrocities, and deviations, and overflowing with tyranny, those among you who remain patient, O believers in Imam al-Mahdi (A), O believers in Allah the Exalted and in His great heavenly message, each one of you through your striving is equal to fifty of those who were with the Messenger of Allah (A). What rank and greatness could be greater than this?
Some people say, how do you remain patient? How do you continue to act? My brother, someone who has such gifts and such a divine promise, would he not remain patient? Yes, he remains patient and endures, because he will receive a reward in this world through victory and success, or through martyrdom. After that, he will have a great reward with Allah the Exalted, and humanity as a whole will benefit from the presence of Imam al-Mahdi (A). We act on this basis.
Here it is necessary, on the occasion of the forty-seventh anniversary of the victory of the blessed Islamic Revolution in Iran, to congratulate this people, the leadership, and all those working in the Islamic Republic of Iran on the great victory that occurred in the year 1979 at the hands of Imam al-Khomeini (A). Thereafter, under the leadership of Imam al-Khamenei (A), this republic has given a great light of freedom, integrity, ethics, jihad, resistance, liberation, and dignity at the level of the believing human being across the earth. Congratulations to this republic, congratulations to this blessed revolution, congratulations to the Iranian people, congratulations to all the oppressed of the world, Muslims and others alike, on this great victory. Allah willing, Iran will continue as the crown jewel of the world and will continue to be able to defeat America and “Israel” in the confrontations taking place in these times and in this era, because whoever is with Allah cannot but be victorious, Allah willing. Likewise, whoever carries the banner of Imam al-Mahdi will also be victorious. Imam al-Khomeini (A) used to say, “This Islamic Republic is the state of the Master of the Age and the Time. May our souls be sacrificed for the dust beneath his feet.” Why? Because it proceeds upon his path and his line, awaiting him to be the leader of the nation and of the world.

The noblest, most honorable, and greatest expression of a human being’s humanity on the face of the earth, wherever that person may be, is to believe in Allah the Exalted, to follow His law, to learn noble character traits, and to practice them in daily life.
The upbringing provided by Imam al-Mahdi Schools is the upbringing of the prophets, the messengers, and the Imams (A). This upbringing received by students in Imam al-Mahdi Schools has led to love of the homeland, defense of the land, and support for the oppressed. Today, when we speak of martyrs from among the educational staff, the students, and the families, what is the reason? It is the result of a broader educational condition in both the school and society. The school is a contributing factor, though not the only one. Students enter these schools by the will and consent of their families. Those students who study and remain are shaped by these great educational methodologies, which ultimately lead to defense, struggle, honorable and noble political action, and assuming practical responsibilities with integrity, commitment, and adherence to the path of Islam.
Students of Imam al-Mahdi Schools excel in knowledge, action, ethics, resistance, love of the homeland, attachment to the land, and the desire for the revival of this country through a shared and unifying renaissance with all. Yes, they are cautious of corruption, deviation, and injustice. They avoid disobedience to Allah the Exalted. They strive not to fall into what is unlawful. They do not take the rights of others. They do not surrender to the enemy. They do not commit forbidden acts. If this is considered an accusation, then by Allah one must ask who is making the accusation. Certainly, the corrupt will not be pleased with those who walk in obedience to Allah the Exalted. Otherwise, tell me, what exactly is the objection against them? Why are these criticisms raised? Why educate them this way? At times they are told they resemble us, and at other times they are told they do not resemble us. Who are you for them to resemble you? Even we do not say to anyone, resemble us. We act in order to resemble what Allah the Exalted wants. We act in order to resemble uprightness. Whoever wishes to measure himself should go to the correct standard and see how close he is to it and how far he is from it.
As for the homeland and citizenship, this is realized through adherence to laws and regulations and cooperation among different parties, and this is already achieved. I say that a student of Imam al-Mahdi Schools prays, and then moves through life with humanity, social awareness, and moral character. A female student of Imam al-Mahdi Schools wears her hijab and thereby elevates her family and her society to the ranks of dignity, honor, and resistance. The educator in Imam al-Mahdi Schools has chosen the path of wholesome life, honorable life, and upright life, in order to raise a generation upon a life pleasing to Allah the Exalted, through which humanity itself is elevated. Let Satan and his supporters live with their disgrace and shame when confronted by the example of these righteous students.
Look at the wide turnout, by the grace of Allah the Exalted, and the large numbers. There are no fewer than thirty-five thousand male and female students due to this strong demand for these great schools.
I will conclude by asking the noble and hardworking educational staff, along with the administrative staff, officials, and general administration, to stand so that we may recite together the Supplication of the Covenant for Imam al-Mahdi (A):
“O Allah, be for Your representative, al-Hujjah ibn al-Hasan, Your blessings be upon him and upon his forefathers, in this hour and in every hour, a guardian, a protector, a leader, a supporter, a guide, and a watchful eye, until You cause him to dwell upon Your earth in obedience and grant him enjoyment therein for a long time, by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.”

Before beginning the political discussion, I offer condolences for the passing of the mujahid Sayyid Abdul Karim Nasrallah, the father of the master of the martyrs of the Ummah, Sayyid Hasan Nasrallah (A). I extend condolences to the noble family, to Hezbollah, and to all those who love and are connected to this great path through this man and his noble and sanctified son. I also offer condolences for the martyr of jihad, al-Hajj Abu Ahmad Salhab, known to valleys, plains, and battlefields, and one of the pioneers of the first generation. To their souls and the souls of all the martyrs, especially those who were martyred in the recent period, we dedicate the reward of the blessed chapter al-Fatihah, along with prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad (A).

In politics, I will speak about four matters.
First, how should we approach positions in Lebanon so that we distinguish what is correct from what is incorrect, and the sound stance from the deviant one? I pose a question. Are we confronting an aggression that seeks land, occupation, and the enslavement of people? Or are we confronting what is labeled as a problem called resistance and a people who cling to their rights and their land in a time of imbalance of power? We need to know whether we are confronting aggression, or whether we are confronting resistance under the pretext of imbalance of power. We must understand that we are facing American hegemony that extends across the world. The central question is whether we resist this hegemony when it infringes upon our rights and interests, or whether we surrender to it and relinquish our land and sovereignty.
Today, when we hear American and European arrogance and those aligned with them constantly speaking to us about “Israeli” security and the right of “Israel” to security, who are they trying to deceive? They do not seek the security of “Israel.” Rather, they seek to entrench the occupation of “Israel,” expand it, and realize the project of “Greater Israel” through pressure, surrender, criminality, and brutality. Our position begins with our land and our rights. We are in a phase of defending our land, our existence, and liberation. We are not dealing with a simple issue of limited violations. No, we are confronting an existential aggression that seeks to erase our very existence.
Observe whom the Israeli enemy targets. When it is unable to target fighters, where does it go? It goes after civilians. It goes after homes and municipalities. It goes after school teachers and kills indiscriminately. Accordingly, the aggression today against the two locations and the two homes in both Kafr Tibnit and Ain Qana raises the question: why does this aggression take place? What is the objective? They say there is a “capability.” What is this talk? It has been proven that there is no such capability at all as they claim, and even if there were, it would have no relevance. What they want is to strike the social environment, to create internal divisions within it, and to carry out aggression in order to frighten people, terrify them, force them into submission, and make them accept not resisting the Israeli enemy.
From here, I want to say that we must stand firmly on our feet and continue to say “no” to the enemy. We will confront this enemy and reject it to the extent that we are able, with the means of defense available to us, through perseverance in saying “no,” refusing to concede, and refusing to surrender. They say, “You possess strength, and we want to neutralize this strength.” This is merely a pretext. Neutralizing strength, why? To end our existence. Otherwise, they have no justification except the desire to eliminate our existence and achieve their objectives. They occupy our land, and this land is ours. This homeland is ours together with our brothers, our loved ones, and all who live in it. We will not accept relinquishing the land. They are attacking a segment of the components of the homeland, and responsibility lies with everyone.

second point. Today it is incorrect to say that only one party is being targeted, or one sect, or the south, or specific regions. This targeting is directed against the entire homeland. Otherwise, what does it mean that we are one country, that we are citizens living under one roof, under one law, one constitution, and one system? We must stand together in times of ease and hardship. Everyone must confront the Israeli aggression. Today there is aggression, and there is resistance to this aggression. We must all be against the Israeli aggression, not against the resistance. Whoever stands with the enemy under any pretext in order to pressure us into surrender is not acting from a national position, because liberating the land is a comprehensive national responsibility, and sovereignty is a comprehensive national responsibility. Let those who defend “Israel” and America under the claim that they are strong, and who are keen to preserve their trivial and base worldly gains even at the expense of the sons of their own homeland, cease this behavior.
I have advice for those who conduct interviews, especially male and female presenters who pose diversionary questions. I hope you press those you interview and do not allow them to evade the question. How? For example, in an interview, a question is asked: “What is your comment on the Israeli aggression?” What does he answer? He says, “Let us talk about the cause of the Israeli aggression. Were it not for the support operations, were it not that Hezbollah began…” Why? To shift the topic elsewhere. My brother, you are being asked about the Israeli enemy. Say clearly whether you are against it or not. He is afraid that if he says the first word, “Yes, I am against the Israeli aggression,” then the second question will be asked: “How do we confront it?” But when he evades answering about the Israeli aggression and shifts to “Who caused the aggression,” then the discussion is derailed. This aggression has already occurred. Agreements ended that phase, and we have entered a new phase. Now there is a decisive and fundamental question. There is an enemy. Are you with it or against it? If you are against it, tell me what you will do to expel the enemy. If you cannot, then at least remain silent. Say a few words. I am not telling you to go and fight if you cannot fight. I am not telling you to change battle formations. I am telling you at least not to stand with it, not to justify it, and not to speak the language of justification for this Israeli enemy.
If we unite as citizens, our chances of success increase. We, as Hezbollah, are ready to discuss how to repel the aggression with anyone who believes in this direction, in any position they may hold. There can be a plan of action that helps us emerge from the situation we are in. But this requires discussion with different parties, because this is a national issue and not an issue that concerns us alone. The aggression is not directed against us alone. It is directed against the entire homeland. This enemy needs tools inside the country. I call for not assisting it, even with words, and for not repeating the failed and disgraceful experience of the past. That path is inevitably a losing one. There were people who thought they could seek help from the enemy and gain benefits at the expense of the Lebanese interior. That phase is over. It has become clear that this approach does not work. Nothing more is demanded of Lebanon except continued pressure. The five-member committee comes and asks, “Where has Lebanon reached?” With what? With disarmament. “Where are you going, Lebanon?” With what? With disarmament, meaning neutralizing strength. My brother, go and speak to the Israeli enemy and to the American enemy. Go and speak to them. They are the ones responsible. Tell them, “Stop. Implement the agreement. End the aggression.” Why do you pressure Lebanon? You pressure it in order to achieve Israeli objectives through politics, objectives they failed to achieve militarily. This is the problem.
