The women were unarmed, detained, and under the complete control of their captors, who explicitly stated that the women would be “offered as sabaya,” a term historically associated with enslavement and sexual exploitation. Additional footage shows women being detained, sold, and subjected to humiliating and degrading treatment, accompanied by explicit threats of sexual violence and exploitation.
