🏴 | Condolences on the demise of the brother of Ayatollah al-ʿUẓmā Sayyid Ali al-Husayni al-Sistani (H):
Sayyid Hadi al-Sistani (r), the younger brother of Ayatollah al-ʿUẓmā Sayyid Ali al-Husayni al-Sistani (H), the supreme Shiʿa religious authority in Iraq, passed away today following a prolonged illness. Following his demise, the President of Iraq, the Prime Minister of Iraq, and numerous regional political, religious, and academic figures conveyed their condolences to the senior religious authority in order to offer comfort and sympathy.
Sayyid Hadi al-Sistani (r) was one of the distinguished teachers of the Islamic seminary (Hawza). He had been ill for some time and passed away on Friday in a hospital in the city of Qom.
Earlier, on 23/12/2025, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani (H) had expressed his concern over the deterioration of the late Sayyid Hadi al-Sistani’s (r) health in a personal letter addressed to his brother, writing:
“The news of your illness has caused us great concern and sadness. During these days, I have continuously inquired about your health and pray for your recovery.”
Sayyid Hadi al-Sistani (r) was a prominent Shiʿa religious scholar and a well-known figure in the city of Najaf. He was widely known for his simplicity, humility, and quiet way of life, choosing to live away from public attention and focusing primarily on research, study, and teaching. He played an important role in safeguarding Islamic faith and Shiʿa doctrine and devoted his life to scholarship in silence and sincerity.
The late Ayatollah Sayyid Hadi al-Sistani (r) held a high religious and social status, particularly due to the Husayni mourning gatherings he organized, which were known for their sincerity, spiritual depth, and heartfelt lamentation. He was highly respected for his clear and principled stance against exaggeration (ghuluw), Sufi distortions, weak narrations, and emotional excesses in Shiʿa mourning assemblies, insisting on authenticity, moderation, and doctrinal integrity.
From a young age, Sayyid Hadi al-Sistani (r) showed a deep passion for knowledge and learning. He joined the Hawza of Qom, one of the most prominent centers of religious studies in the Islamic world, where he studied under distinguished scholars and jurists. Over the years, he rose through the academic ranks to become one of the most respected professors of the Hawza. He was known for his calm, profound teaching style and for his special attention to the intellectual and moral development of his students.
Sayyid Hadi al-Sistani (r) was not merely a religious scholar, but a cornerstone of the Hawza in Qom. He contributed extensively to the teaching of jurisprudence and its principles, graduating many students who later became prominent scholars, teachers, and preachers. He also played an important role in guiding religious discourse toward moderation and balance, consistently warning against extremism and fanaticism while emphasizing reason, wisdom, and sound methodology.
Today, Sayyid Hadi al-Sistani (r) passed away after a long battle with illness. His passing caused deep grief across religious and academic circles in Iraq, Iran, and the wider Muslim world. Leading scholars and religious authorities mourned his loss, praising his scholarly stature, moral character, and exemplary life. A large funeral was held in Qom, attended by thousands of mourners, reflecting the deep love and respect he commanded.
Speaking about Sayyid Hadi al-Sistani (r) is not merely remembering a religious scholar, but reflecting on the values and principles of authentic Islam. Throughout his life, he embodied humility, sincerity, and service to Islam.
We at EnemyWatch extend our deepest condolences to His Eminence Ayatollah al-ʿUẓmā Sayyid Ali al-Sistani (H), the al-Sistani family and household, the followers of this great scholar, his students and associates, and the entire Islamic world, especially Shiʿa scholarly networks. May Allah grant patience and comfort to the al-Sistani family and all those affected by this great loss.

🇮🇷:🇮🇶 Security Warning:
Information is circulating regarding suspicious movements of armed elements across certain areas of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, suspected of being involved in dangerous cross-border security activities directed toward the Islamic Republic.
Relevant authorities are urged to urgently verify this information and take the necessary measures to prevent the exploitation of the region’s territory for any actions that threaten the security of neighboring countries or the stability of the region.
Ignoring such movements could expose the region to serious political and security risks, and would place legal and moral responsibility on anyone who facilitates or turns a blind eye to them.
