🇮🇶 | Iraq is approaching the anniversary of a profound national tragedy, namely the martyrdom of Hajj Qasim Soleimani and Shaykh Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, an event that continues to shape the country’s political and security landscape. Hashd al-Shaabi has called for a two million man march to commemorate the anniversary, a major mobilization expected amid growing pressure on the Iraqi resistance to disarm. This comes as political discourse intensifies, with the Head of the Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council stating that the national need for the role of factions in military action has become obsolete. In response, Firas Al-Yasiri, a member of the political council of the Islamic Resistance of the Al-Nujaba Movement, told Mayadeen Plus that the resistance has consistently supported the state since 2003 and through the defeat of ISIS, stressing that Iraq cannot enter the next phase without the duality of the state and the resistance. He emphasized that Iraqi national security remains part of the responsibility of the Islamic Resistance, noting that while the Iraqi army has made significant sacrifices, it is not permitted to acquire the necessary weapons, underscoring ongoing tensions over sovereignty, security, and the future role of resistance factions in Iraq. Al-Mayadeen Plus correspondent in Baghdad, Walid Karim, stated that Shiite forces have been mobilizing since the first hours following the announcement of the preliminary election results last month and formed two committees to negotiate among themselves regarding the selection of the Prime Minister.

🇾🇪 | Hadramout is now on the line of fire, raising questions about the limits of Saudi patience toward Emirati-backed expansion. The recent escalation in eastern Yemen reveals a qualitative shift in the nature of the conflict within the Saudi Emirati camp, where disagreements are approaching the threshold of direct military confrontation between regional powers supposedly on the same side. The deployment of Saudi-backed forces along Yemen’s borders, accompanied by direct threats of airstrikes against Southern Transitional Council forces, indicates that Saudi tolerance for Emirati-supported expansion has reached a critical stage. According to circulating information, Riyadh is mobilizing around 20,000 fighters from forces known as the “Nation’s Shield” in the Al-Wadiah and Al-Abr areas, sending a clear message that unilateral control over Hadramout and Al-Mahra crosses Saudi red lines, as these regions represent both strategic border depth and key security and economic pillars in any Saudi vision for Yemen’s future. On the other hand, the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council continues to capitalize on its rapid eastward military advance to raise its political demands, placing the project of re-dividing Yemen into two states at the top of its priorities. Control over Hadramout and Al-Mahra provides the council with a highly strategic card, as Hadramout alone accounts for about 36 percent of Yemen’s territory, contains the largest oil reserves, and includes vital ports such as Mukalla, Al-Shihr, and the Al-Dhaba oil export terminal. However, this expansion faces not only Saudi rejection but also deep internal southern complexities, as the south is far from a homogeneous entity capable of secession, particularly in Hadramout, which has a long history of relative autonomy and political particularity, making it less susceptible to domination by external power centers from Aden or elsewhere.

🇮🇷 | Despite the sudden eruption of anti Iran rhetoric and media campaigns claiming increased Iranian activity, this is not a new phenomenon, as Iran has long been expanding its defensive capabilities while correcting shortcomings and structural flaws identified within its operational systems. In this context, Iran launched three satellites into space on December 28, as the Iranian Space Agency announced the successful deployment of the satellites Zafar 2, Payam, and an upgraded version of Kosar into low Earth orbit at an altitude of approximately 500 kilometers. The satellites were launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome in Russia aboard a Soyuz carrier rocket, reflecting continued progress in Iran’s space and defense-related technologies. Commenting on the developments, Sardar Ahmad Vahidi, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, stated that Iran is closely monitoring all developments and carefully following all issues, underscoring heightened strategic vigilance amid regional and international scrutiny.

🏴☠️ | Hebrew media confirms that the Prison Service is studying an extraordinary proposal submitted by National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, widely known for overseeing and promoting various forms of abuse, torture, rapes and brutality against Palestinian detainees. The proposal calls for establishing a prison for Palestinian prisoners surrounded by alligators, modeled after a controversial prison facility in the US state of Florida. Notably, Prison Service officials did not immediately reject the proposal, but instead began drafting an operational work plan, examining the feasibility and practicality of implementing the idea, which is currently under active review. According to the report, officials are even assessing whether alligators could be brought into a security facility and used as a deterrent, with some reportedly viewing them as a potential substitute for part of the Prison Service personnel. The issue remains under observation, as the normalization of extreme and dehumanizing detention practices continues to surface within official Israeli institutions.

🇵🇸 | Satellite images reveal an expansion of Israeli military infrastructure inside Gaza after the ceasefire, according to an investigation by Drop Site News in collaboration with Forensic Architecture, which documents an acceleration in the construction and consolidation of Israeli military sites inside the Gaza Strip since the ceasefire of October 10, 2025. Based on satellite image analysis, the investigation shows the creation of new military sites, the expansion of existing ones, and the excavation and rerouting of military roads, alongside the continued demolition of Palestinian properties, particularly in southern Gaza and eastern Khan Yunis. Israel is reported to currently maintain 48 military sites east of the so called Yellow Line, connected by a growing network of military roads linking sites inside Gaza with Israeli infrastructure outside the Strip, while 13 new military sites were established after the ceasefire, mainly along the Yellow Line, eastern Khan Yunis, and border areas. Between October 10 and December 2, 2025, the investigation observes rapid growth in the infrastructure of existing sites and an expansion of road networks, including ongoing work begun in September to redirect the Magen Oz corridor, a 15 kilometer military road, to fall fully within Israeli control zones. In parallel, the investigation documents systematic destruction of Palestinian property, especially in eastern Khan Yunis, including areas not previously destroyed, now overlaid with new roads and military sites. The Yellow Line emerges as a central mechanism of control, with the investigation noting that despite maps suggesting Israeli withdrawal to 53 to 58 percent of Gaza, actual control has expanded, marked by the placement of at least 27 yellow control squares west of the mapped Yellow Line. In Jabalia, the investigation presents a case study of a new military site established after dismantling a densely populated tent area and demolishing surrounding buildings, featuring large berms measuring up to 75 by 65 meters, clearly visible in late November imagery. In southern Gaza, particularly Rafah and eastern Khan Yunis, areas still described as densely populated with private properties, demolition and road excavation reportedly continued after the ceasefire, with imagery showing observation equipment near borders and military and demolition vehicles linked to crossing and transfer points. Politically, the investigation contrasts these findings with point sixteen of Donald Trump’s twenty point plan, which claims Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza and will gradually withdraw, handing control to international stabilization forces, yet field evidence indicates further entrenchment east of the Yellow Line, suggesting no genuine intention of future pullout.

✅ | Media propaganda often precedes aggression. If you observe and analyze the media closely, you will understand what kind of narrative they are forming. Over the past 48 hours, the media space has been filled with talk of strikes on Iran, preemptive strikes on Iran, and constant ranting, while HTS-linked Hasbara outlets have simultaneously started sectarian campaigns against Iraq. All these micromanaged operations work in a coordinated manner. Their objectives are clearly aligned, and their organization and direction are deeply associated with Mossad and the CIA.

Israel Fakes Panic Over Iranian Missiles To Push U.S. Towards Another War With Islamic Republic
In an unsurprising development, Israel is planning a new war on Iran, and actively working on securing support from the United States for this by using the Islamic Republic’s missile program as a pretext.
This was first revealed by NBC News which reported on December 20 that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will present plans for a possible fresh attack on Iran to President Donald Trump during his upcoming visit to the U.S. The meeting is expected to take place in the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida at the end of the month.
According to the report, Israel is growing increasingly concerned that Iran is rebuilding and even expanding its ballistic missile production in the wake of the nations’ 12-day war in June.

• He emphasized that true security can only be achieved through supporting the Iraqi state, while questioning the legitimacy of foreign weapons operating in Iraq.
• He cited U.S. strikes that killed Iraqi figures, including Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and Qassem Soleimani, attacks on Popular Mobilization Forces near the Syrian border, and strikes on civilian facilities and airports as examples of undisciplined and illegitimate force.
• He also questioned the legitimacy of Turkish military operations inside Iraqi territory and the presence of Turkish bases on Iraqi soil.
• Al-Khazali stated that all divine laws and international laws, including those of the United Nations, permit any people under occupation to bear arms and resist the occupier.
