🟨 | 27 November 2025: Full Speech of His Eminence Hujjat al-Islam Shaykh Naim Qassim (H) on the martyrdom of Martyr Haitham al-Tabtabai (r) and his companions:
Peace and the mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you.
Today we gather to commemorate our great jihadi leader Sayyid Abu Ali al-Tabatabai (may Allah’s mercy be upon him), along with a group of his brothers and loved ones from Hezbollah, the sons of the Islamic Resistance. After the commemoration, we will speak about the first anniversary of the ceasefire agreement in facing the Israeli enemy.
We begin with the great jihadi leader, Sayyid Abu Ali al-Tabatabai (may Allah’s mercy be upon him), Haitham, who left an important mark during a sensitive historical phase.
Allah the Exalted said: “And how many a prophet fought, and with him fought many godly people. They did not lose heart for what befell them in the cause of Allah, nor did they weaken or give in, and Allah loves the patient.” (Qur’an 3:146)
The personality of the great jihadi leader Sayyid Abu Ali was distinguished by faith, morals, jihad, piety, social relations, organization, precision, strategic thinking, and the major practical steps that he accomplished in the field of jihad, preparing for the future confrontation and working against the Israeli enemy. These are great characteristics that marked the martyr Sayyid Abu Ali. Therefore, we notice that the pattern of leader-martyrs is similar in its general foundations: courage, boldness, planning ability, awareness, perception, and wise management in the heart of battle, as well as preparation for what comes after. This is a repeated and elevated model.
He joined the ranks of the Islamic Resistance in 1984 and from the very first moments he was eager for jihad. It is narrated about him that in one of the battles a number of brothers were chosen to participate in the fight against the Israeli enemy. His brother was among those selected, but the one responsible for managing the battle refused to allow Sayyid Abu Ali to join because he believed it was not suitable to have two brothers from the same family in one battle.
On that day there was prayer in the mosque before the battle, and His Eminence Sayyid Abbas al-Musawi (r) was leading the congregation and bidding farewell to the brothers heading to the operation.
Brother Abu Ali stood up and asked: “I want to go, but the official says that two brothers are not allowed.”
Sayyid Abbas replied with his famous statement: “Jihad does not bring the time of death any closer.”
Based on that he went to the battle with his brother. Sayyid Abu Ali said: “I memorized it and always repeat it: Jihad does not bring the time of death any closer.” And this is naturally in harmony with the words of Allah the Exalted: “When their appointed time comes, they cannot delay it for a single hour nor can they advance it.” (Qur’an 16:61)
He confronted the Israeli aggression in 2006 in Khiam and had a prominent and important role. He led the Elite Forces project from 2008 to 2012 for four years.
Then he was appointed to lead the operations against extremist forces in Syria from 2012 to 2015.
The objective of assassinating the martyr Sayyid al-Tabatabai was not achieved and will never be achieved.
Sayyid Abu Ali was a man of the battlefield, carrying many responsibilities and working with excellence. We saw that he rose from one responsibility to another, and in none of the positions he took did he choose them himself. He was always assigned either by the Secretary General or his direct superior, and he would go wherever he was asked to. Even when he was asked to go to Yemen to help with training and preparation, he did so and spent nine years from 2015 to early 2024 working to support our brothers in Yemen.
He left an important mark, and today the Yemenis love him very much, as they recognize in him a divine, brave, resistant model who seeks the victory of Palestine and works for the liberation of land and the liberation of human beings.

He was assigned to lead the battle of “ʿUli al-Baas” because after the martyrdom of His Eminence Sayyid Hasan Nasrallah (r) and the martyr Hajj Abu al-Fadl (r), there was no longer any direct commander.
Martyr Abu al-Fadl was the last direct leader of the general battle administration. Therefore, Sayyid Abu Ali was tasked as the jihadi liaison with the entire jihadi organization and the resistance. In truth, he was highly skilled and was truly the master of the “ʿUli al-Baas” battle in terms of military management, organization, planning, missile and aircraft launch scheduling, and coordination of fire. All of this was performed by Sayyid Abu Ali with professional excellence.
Immediately after the “ʿUli al-Baas” battle, he was appointed as a military official, the jihadi assistant and military commander, officially assigned to manage the resistance and military jihadi operations.
What was the goal of the assassination?
Its aim was to strike morale, because when the most prominent figure in the front line of combat and in rebuilding capability and readiness to face the Israeli enemy is killed, this creates confusion according to the Israeli estimation. By striking morale, it may also affect the organization, administration, and distribution of responsibilities, especially since he was the first in command on the military level. I say to you: yes, it is a great loss, but it is also a great gain for him, because martyrdom was his goal, to leave this worldly life as a martyr, not in an ordinary and natural way. This is a gain he has achieved.
But does this assassination lead to the collapse of morale?
We are a resistance, we are a united party, we are a party with roots. We are a party raised under Imam al-Husayn (A) and under the guidance of the Leader of the Martyrs of the Ummah, Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah (r). This party has given great leaders, martyrs, sacrifices, and contributions in the thousands. How do we view matters? We see that in every stage, strength is renewed, capabilities are restored, and individuals are replaced.
And praise be to Allah, this is possible because Allah granted us steadfastness and capability. Therefore, the objective of the assassination has not been achieved and will not be achieved. I say to the Israeli enemy: We remain on the path, and he has many brothers. And if Allah wills, everything will continue naturally and be followed up as needed.
In this assassination operation, some may say to be careful, that there are breaches and problems. Yes, there is no equality of power with the Israeli enemy, neither militarily nor in intelligence. The skies and the land are constantly surveilled and infiltrated. And if some hold us responsible, saying that perhaps there are agents, then yes, it is possible. The arena is open. We are not in a small room. We operate in an open field where people come and travelers arrive. Recently, a network of agents was arrested by the General Security service. Some exist, because the Israeli enemy works here with great ease due to foreign nationalities entering Lebanon, international cover, and coordination between American and Israeli intelligence, and even some Arab and international intelligence services. Unfortunately, all of them contribute to providing Israel with the information and data it needs.
I do not say this to absolve ourselves from mistakes that exist and must be treated. We must always remain alert, learn lessons, and close gaps. Sayyid Abu Ali used to say: “Resistance gives birth.” It is a very beautiful phrase, meaning that if some are killed, others will come in their place. If some depart, others will arrive, because praise be to Allah, we have an arena, a society, a great people who give their capabilities to the resistance.
He used to say there are two main factors that help in enduring separation. First, the joy that accompanies the brother who is martyred, even though it is a harsh moment of separation, especially when it is a remarkable commander who falls in battle.

Second, recalling the spirit of the martyrs, for they are alive with their Lord, provided for. This is the understanding, this is the awareness, this is the rank, and this is leadership.
With Sayyid Abu Ali, four brothers were martyred. The brother Mustafa, son of the martyr As’ad Barro, his jihadi title was Hajj Hassan. He was the Secretary of the Jihadi Council since early 2025, after the ʿUli al-Baas battle. He once asked me when he became Secretary if he could write at the end of his messages: “your son Hassan.” I told him this honors me, because you are a faithful and sincere believer. Since then, all his messages ended with “Your son Hassan.” That was his father’s upbringing and the spirit he inherited from the martyr As’ad Barro. This is the true school. The third martyr was brother Qasim Hussein Barjawi, known as “Malak,” always present in the battlefield, courageous.
He was director of the military commander’s office in 2025 and had a history in the Yemen file. He helped Sayyid Abu Ali and served in the support and logistics department of the Military Command. He had many tasks and was a remarkable, generous, brave figure. He was wounded several times, and praise be to Allah, attained the rank of martyr.
• The fourth martyr, Ibrahim Ali Hussein, known as “Ameer”, was the secretary of the commander’s office, also among the dedicated and sincere ones.
Let us not forget that the meeting was on a Sunday and there was no general activity. The commander was arranging some details to begin operations on Monday. One of them was the secretary of the office, and there was also the fifth brother, Rifaat Ahmad Hussein, known as “Abu Ali”, who was on duty at the commander’s office.
This pure and noble group gathered on that day to prepare for the upcoming work. May Allah have mercy on the martyrs. We consider them a source of great pride for us. But of course, the question that everyone is waiting to hear is:
What will you do after this major criminal act?
This is a blatant aggression and a described crime, and it is our right to respond, and we will determine the time for that.
I wrote the phrase I will say so that no one adds or interprets anything beyond it. And I ask all our brothers in the media: Do not come tomorrow and interpret this phrase. Leave it exactly as it is. Repeat it exactly as it is. Let the Israeli enemy and its supporters understand it however they want. The statement I announce in response to the martyrdom of Sayyid Abu Ali and his brothers is:
This is a blatant aggression and a clearly defined crime, and it is our right to respond. We will determine the timing for that.
I repeat: This is a blatant aggression and a clearly defined crime, and it is our right to respond. We will determine the timing for that.
Condolences and congratulations to the families of the five martyrs, and to all the families of martyrs. And thanks to all who offered condolences, attended, or sent messages. Many political, social, media, and public figures came. We cannot respond to all messages, so consider this gratitude as a reply to everyone who reached out to us, whether from Lebanon or from other countries.
I especially mention the Islamic Republic of Iran, headed by the Leader Imam Khamenei (may his shadow last), who consoled us, as well as the entire Islamic Revolutionary Guard, and all officials and people in the Islamic Republic who showed support and sympathy.

I now move to the first anniversary of the ceasefire agreement in 2024, on November 27 of last year.
I will speak about several points:
First: The ceasefire is a day of victory for the Resistance, for Hezbollah, for the people, and for Lebanon, because we were able to prevent the enemy from achieving its goals, foremost of which was ending the Resistance and eliminating it completely. This goal was not achieved, and the Israelis were forced to agree to a ceasefire, and therefore this is a victory in that sense. The agreement represents a new stage in which the Lebanese state assumed the responsibility of removing Israel and deploying the Lebanese army south of the Litani River. Thus, we are now facing a new phase. Some people keep taking us back ten years, twenty years, and into old details to distract people. But there is now a new stage called “the agreement”, and the state has become responsible for expelling this occupation and deploying the Lebanese army. Therefore, an Israeli withdrawal must take place, the aggression must stop, and the prisoners must be released.
The agreement happened because we stood firm, because we confronted, because we witnessed legendary performance from the honorable, self-sacrificing mujahideen on the front lines and in every place. We had with us allies from different political forces and organizations, and with us were our brothers in the Amal Movement, and with us were the noble and brave people who gave wherever they were, wherever they were displaced, wherever they returned, and at all times they never stopped giving. Also, the role of the Lebanese army and its support for this direction and this path.
So yes, the agreement happened because we endured, because we are strong with our project, our faith, our will, and our people, strong with the blood of our martyrs, our wounded, our imprisoned, strong with the honorable and sacrificing families, strong with our attachment to our land.
They killed our leaders, especially the Master of the Martyrs of the Ummah, Sayyid Hassan, may Allah be pleased with him, and Sayyid Al-Hashim Safeiddin and all the leaders. They also killed civilians and mujahideen, destroyed homes, caused massive destruction, and dealt heavy blows to our capabilities, all in order to eliminate the Resistance. But they failed, and thanks be to Allah.
The Battle of “Uli al-Baas” was a confrontation by a modest force that cannot be compared to the enemy’s might, yet it was noble and possessed willpower, courage, faith in Allah, and certainty of victory, facing an Israeli-American global tyrannical and savage power. The Battle of “Uli al-Baas” achieved this accomplishment. We raise our heads with pride over what was achieved, because the Israeli project was shattered at the threshold of the Battle of Uli al-Baas.
Second: The Israeli aggression is an aggression against all of Lebanon, not only against the Resistance, even though we in the Resistance are the most targeted. What proves that the aggression is against all Lebanon? The Israeli objectives concern Lebanon’s land, Lebanon’s future, the plan to besiege Lebanon, strip Lebanon of its decision, control Lebanon’s politics, and take all of Lebanon’s economy and capabilities. All of this means it is an aggression against Lebanon.
Look: isn’t there aggression against the President because he acts wisely? Isn’t there aggression against the army and its leadership because they take measures to protect internal security and to work toward liberating the land? Isn’t there aggression against the economy through American sanctions and the US Treasury and all the related actions? And they always say they will target the social, cultural, and educational capabilities of a segment of the Lebanese people. This affects all the Lebanese. And until now, Lebanon’s inability to advance economically is partly due to what America has done. Isn’t this aggression against Lebanon?

Do they not assault the people in their villages, knowing that not all the people hold the same views, yet they are the sons of the land? But they are attacked, not only in the south, but in the south, the Beqaa, the north, the Dahiya, Beirut, and all areas. Do you not see the drones flying above the presidential palace, the government headquarters, and even during meetings?
I can say this clearly: there is now an Israeli aerial occupation of Lebanon. In other words, this is an occupation.
Does this occupation not assault Shebaa, Iqlim al-Kharroub, Sidon, and the massacre of the camp, Ain al-Hilweh, and the north, in addition to the south, the Beqaa, the Dahiya, Mount Lebanon, Beirut, and all regions?
So we are facing an aggression against Lebanon. Forget the claim that this aggression targets only the Resistance. No, it targets the Resistance mainly, but it targets all of Lebanon. Therefore, the entirety of Lebanon is responsible for defending itself, and the government first of all, because it is the one taking charge, and it is the one that approved this agreement and declared that it wants to take the initiative to deploy the army and be responsible for security in Lebanon and defending Lebanon’s borders.
I say to the government: you cannot demand your rights without fulfilling your most important duty, which is protecting the citizens. The government cannot seek its rights while neglecting its duties. The most important duty is to protect the citizens. Are the citizens protected? Is the government capable of that?
Let the government show us how it will deter the enemy. What is the duty of the state? The state has an army, and the state has a sovereign political decision. The most important thing is to deter the enemy.
Here I want to clarify the meaning of “deterring the enemy” before assigning responsibility. Deterrence has three forms:
First: deterrence through liberation. If you liberate the land, this means you have deterred the enemy and driven them out, and this is very important, and it is considered the highest form.
Second: deterrence through protection. Meaning that by deploying the army and using the available capabilities of the state, you prevent the enemy from approaching. If he approaches, you are ready to confront him, and therefore he will not dare. This is deterrence through protection.
Third: deterrence by preventing the enemy from stabilizing on our occupied land. If he occupies a village or an area, he should remain in a state of confusion, resistance, confrontation, and pressure until he is forced to leave our land.
Sheikh Qassim: “Israel knows that as long as the Resistance exists, it cannot settle.”
These three forms of confrontation are called deterrence against the Israeli enemy, and the first responsible for deterrence is the state, before anyone says to us: “you did not deter the enemy” or “you deter the enemy.” The first responsible for deterrence is the state, and the state, with its army and its people, can apply deterrence. Why with its army and its people? Because if the army does not have enough power, it must rely on its people, as everyone is responsible for confronting the enemy.
Now tell me: what has the state done from these three forms of deterrence?
It has neither liberated nor protected. The only remaining option is preventing Israel from stabilizing. The state chose to prevent this stabilization through the political path, which can indeed prevent the enemy through political communications, political pressure, a political stance rejecting the occupation, and internal unity that strengthens the state since everyone would stand behind it in confrontation. Thus, the state is capable of applying the third form of deterrence in this phase, which is preventing the enemy from establishing stability.
What has the Resistance done regarding deterrence?
First: In the year 2000, Israel was expelled from Lebanon after 22 years of occupation. This is what is called deterrence through liberation.

From 2000 to 2023, we had another form of deterrence: deterrence through protection. Israel did not dare to approach, and when it launched the 2006 aggression, it retreated and remained deterred. Thus, Lebanon was protected from 2006 to 2023.
So these two forms of deterrence were achieved by the Resistance and fulfilled their goals, while the state was absent, with no power and no capabilities.
From 2023 until now, we are confronting Israel by preventing it from establishing stability. Israel cannot stabilize. We confronted it through the Battle of “Uli al-Baas,” and now we confront it by refusing the continuation of occupation.
Therefore, the third form of deterrence is being practiced now. Israel knows that as long as the Resistance exists, it cannot settle.
Today we and the state are both partners in the third form of deterrence: preventing Israel from stabilizing. The state says it is doing so politically, and we say to them: we are with you, and you carry the responsibility now. If you need us, we are ready. But we are prepared, and our readiness means preventing stability, and our capability in defense is preventing stability, which is a form of deterrence. Therefore, the government must work to invest the capabilities of its people and its army in order to achieve, at this stage, the prevention of stability and move towards the expulsion of the Israeli entity.
Third: No one in Lebanon has the authority to give up Lebanon’s strength, Lebanon’s land, or Lebanon’s dignity. The authorization given to the officials is to restore sovereignty, land, prisoners, and dignity.

The will of our people is manifested in the fact that they returned to life in the front villages under Israeli pressure and threat — with full vigor and strength, they invested this will and benefited from it.
The call of the Hamra March in Hamra Street, on Independence Day, came from journalists, cultural and political elites, who gathered from different colors, different sects, different ideas — and they raised one slogan: expel Israel and achieve independence. This means that there are forces inside the country that do not want Israel, do not accept the Israeli project, and are ready to confront it. This matter must be invested in.
No one should say that this matter is linked only to the resistance or to a certain sect — no — all sects, all political forces, all the people, the overwhelming majority in the country do not want Israel.
There is American guardianship which is part of the aggression in reality, and we must pay attention to this guardianship — it promotes Israel and uses Israeli pressure through politics, media, economy, and money in all forms. All of this must be clear so that we know whom we face, who is with us, and who is against us.
As for the servants of Israel in Lebanon — they are few, yet despite being few, they cause a problem for Lebanon, because together with America and Israel, they obstruct the country’s stability, growth, and liberation. These people play a role that serves Israel and America — not Lebanon.
You say the weapon is a problem? No, it is not a problem, because the weapon is what liberated for 44 years, it is what played this major role inside the country, and it is what led to the various forms of deterrence that we mentioned.
You say the weapon is a hindering problem inside? This is a political opinion — we are ready to discuss political opinions and to hold meetings through the defensive strategy and discuss — but not under Israeli or American pressure, and not under the cancellation of the existing agreement, and not under the rule that first we must decide how to give up our power and then they will apply what they want — all of this is unacceptable.
The weapon is a hindrance to Israel’s project, so whoever wants to remove it as Israel wants — only serves Israel. O servants of Israel, fear Allah and stand with the people of your country to achieve the goals.
Fourth: the priority now is sovereignty and liberation. They say: the resistance has weakened and is not capable. Well then, if resistance is weak — I ask you: why do you not tell Israel: if the resistance is weak, then what do you want from it? The matter is over — go and do whatever you want. This is proof that the resistance is present — we have the strength of faith and will, the strength of citizenship and attachment to the land, and the strength of loyalty to the blood of the martyrs — that makes us strong like mountains standing firm before the raging winds.
They always threaten that a wider aggression will happen. Why? Because, they say, to force you into surrender. All these threats are political pressure. They have raised the level of threat recently because they saw that low-level threats over the year were not effective. They found that American political pressure did not work, attempts to cause division between the army, resistance, and the people did not succeed, and attempts by some internal parties to create internal turmoil also failed.
When they saw that during the whole year they had used maximum pressure, talk began of the possibility of war through the Israeli press and those who report its news. I tell you: this threat will not advance nor delay anything. Is it real? No, up to now it is not real.
Do you expect a war later? It is possible at some time — yes — this possibility exists, and the possibility of no war also exists, because Israel is studying its options, and America is also studying its options. They know that with this people, this resistance, and this spirit, they cannot achieve what they want.
I tell you plainly: they must despair.

They threaten, they do what they do, they gather the whole world against us, they try everything, this is a people that cannot be defeated, this is a people that does not surrender, and we will never be defeated nor surrender, and “Hayhat minna adh-Dhilla!” (Far be from us humiliation!)
They want to argue with us and say: surrender is the solution because we have no ability to face aggression. We say: you want to strip Lebanon of its power and ability to defend itself, and you do not mind that Israel continues occupation and killing so that you may live peacefully.
They say: give us a chance, we just want to live. How do you want to live? Do you think Israel will stop at killing and occupation? Israel wants annihilation. Israel says clearly: Greater Israel. Katz says he wants to change the maritime map, and he says he will not leave the five or seven points or those who are in them. All these indicators, why? Do you still say the problem is in capability? No, the problem is in the Israeli project, and we must confront it. Instead of condemning aggression, you condemn the one who defends himself and his land? Strange indeed!
O brother, when there is Israeli aggression on his land, should someone strike his own people and hinder his people, his army, and his president just to give Israel comfort and reassurance? This thinking is wrong.
Whoever’s call is innocent, meaning the one who says “we just want to end it because we are unable,” we say to him: lifespans are in Allah’s Hands, but the decision of dignity and disgrace is in our hands. Be brave, make the decision of dignity, and be certain that you will be victorious.
If we defend, we open the horizon of honor. If we surrender, we destroy the dream of our children for the future. To Allah belongs honor, and to His Messenger, and to the believers.
Our steadfastness for a whole year despite all pressures is proof of our strength and dignity. Our popular, political, municipal, and parliamentary presence, as the world sees, is proof of our strength and dignity. Our criterion is independence and freedom, but the criterion of the surrenderers is the life of slavery and humiliation.
We will be free in our land, and we will not accept slavery and humiliation.
I conclude: we will not allow Israel to decide the borders of our life and its manner. The Israeli enemy wants Lebanon to be its backyard under its control. We and our allies and the honest ones of our nation and our people and army will never accept to be tails to America or Israel.
Well, someone may say after all this introduction: what is the solution?
The solution: the aggression must stop.
It is unacceptable that one side commits aggression, and the side being attacked is told: the solution is in your hands, give him what he wants! This is not acceptable, there is aggression, and the aggression must stop.
What is the solution? The aggression must stop.
Well, if aggression continues, then the government must prepare a plan of confrontation and benefit from its army and people with all available capabilities. The government must strike its foot on the ground and declare that it will reconsider even the army’s deployment in the south, and that this mechanism needs review because it has turned into a judicial officer for Israel. It can take many measures, it can threaten, it can silence the voices that call for stripping Lebanon of its power, it can postpone problematic issues, and create an image of unity.
Look, O brother, Israel, this is the solution: confrontation.
Political, cultural, and media confrontation, with unity and all available means, even militarily.
Well, some say: if all this does not work, what do we do?

The blood of our martyrs will not be wasted, and it is better for our citizens to be united, then the foreigner will submit to our will, and Lebanon will gain benefits, and we will understand one another.
Look at the lesson of Syria, Syria before you, they left nothing in it and took everything, then Katz comes out and says: “we do not trust the law.” He is an old fighter, and what does he mean by that? It means they do not know when they will decide to kill him or decide to enter more, because they believe that any security or political agreement with Syria has no meaning, they take everything for free, and no one confronts them.
Yes, the operation that took place in Beit Jinn proves that the Syrian people will not accept surrender to Israel. This is a positive and correct indicator. Concessions only make the enemy more greedy, so say to him: “No.” And he, in turn, has his own calculations.
In the end, he is not completely free to act as he wishes, he will not achieve his goals as long as we remain steadfast, and he will not harm us without being harmed himself. But the difference lies in the words of Allah the Exalted:
﴿ولا تَهِنوا في ابتغاءِ القومِ إن تَكُونوا تألَمونَ فإنهم يألمون كما تألمون وترجون من الله ما
لا يرجون وكان الله عليمًا حكيمًا﴾
Do not weaken in pursuit of the enemy: if you suffer, they too suffer as you suffer, but you hope from Allah what they do not hope. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

And peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah, and His blessings.

🇵🇸 | A young boy from Gaza, Ali Abu Sobha (8 years old), is at risk of losing his eyesight. Ali lost vision in his left eye after falling from a height while collecting water following an Israeli occupation strike in the area.
According to medical reports, the left eye has suffered severe optic nerve atrophy. His right eye is also significantly weakened after a separate fall while on his way to attend Qur’an classes, placing it at risk of further deterioration, as doctors warn.
Medical teams say they are unable to perform the required surgery inside Gaza due to the severity of his condition and the lack of equipment. Doctors fear that the damage to the left eye could affect the right eye, and state that Ali requires urgent treatment outside the Gaza Strip.
