🏴 | Alawites face forced displacement and violence in Damascus’s Sumeriya neighborhood: Reports:

In the Sumeriya neighborhood of Damascus, reports continue to emerge of forced displacement targeting Alawite residents.

Local testimonies indicate that around 100 Alawite families had their homes marked with an “X” and were given 72 hours by the Public Housing Commission to vacate. Witnesses said that those who resisted the evacuations were threatened with violence, and some were attacked or arbitrarily detained.

According to Sham TV’s correspondent in Damascus, trucks were seen gathering at the entrances of Sumeriya in preparation for evictions.

The correspondent reported conflicting accounts: some residents claimed they had been verbally told they could stay if they wished, while others said they were directly threatened with death if they remained.

Sham TV also noted that media outlets and international press were barred from entering the neighborhood to assess the situation.
