In Pompeo’s record, he spoke of “neutrality,” meaning normalization with israel, and in Barak’s record nothing has changed, as he still searches for “peace” with israel. Then they tell us that we must feel that we are Lebanese, but such dreams are illusions that cannot be realized. They once accused Hezbollah and Iran of trading on the Palestinian cause, yet their outrage was immense when Sayyid Nasrallah declared that the road to Jerusalem passes through Zabadani, Aleppo, and other places, by which he meant that these groups were part of a Western–Israeli project, and therefore fighting them was necessary. These same forces misled youth and children in the name of Jerusalem and Palestine, claiming that to reach Palestine one must first purge its surroundings of so-called tyrannical regimes. Yet today, after delivering Syria into foreign hands, they sit openly and shamelessly with Israelis. They are the same people who killed Syrian army soldiers and attacked Hezbollah positions under the pretext of supporting Gaza, exposing themselves as the true traders of the Palestinian cause and its people.

This gives us the right to ask the Syrian people, and every young man who once fought with them believing in their slogans: who truly walked the path to Jerusalem—the one who was martyred upon it, or the one who used it as a pretext only to later throw himself openly into the lap of the Israelis? After the meeting between Shaybani and Dermer in Paris, much became clear. When we previously spoke of the complex situation in Sweida through several episodes on the al-Waqi‘ channel, we noted that both sides were linked to israel, that the new administration was negotiating, and that the very faction accusing Druze groups of being agents is itself now sitting with Israelis.

Meanwhile, they claim they are tired of wars, but who really wages wars—the one who defends his land and country, or the one who invades and even reaches Beirut?
