Since the onset of aggression against Iran, the country’s air defense units have carried out a wide-ranging, high-efficiency response against hostile aerial incursions. According to Iranian sources, at least 61 Israeli drones, loitering munitions, and cruise missiles have been destroyed since early morning, marking one of the most significant air defense achievements in the region’s modern history.

Al Mayadeen’s correspondent confirmed extremely intense air defense activity in Isfahan, while Iranian Police Command stated that 16 Israeli drones have been shot down over the past few days. Among these, a Heron Eitan drone belonging to the Zionist regime was downed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the western airspace of Iran. Furthermore, Iranian air defenses intercepted and destroyed an Israeli drone attempting to strike the Khondab heavy water complex in Markazi Province.

Reports from Tehran Province confirm that the West Tehran Police downed 16 hostile drones and arrested 24 individuals accused of spreading disinformation and attempting to damage the image of the state. Five Israeli drones were also destroyed in Tabriz, according to the IRGC in East Azerbaijan, along with the downing of another Hermes drone in Lorestan using a Mithaq infrared-guided missile.

Drone interceptions over Baqershahr, Kahrizak, Karaj, and Shahroud, as well as debris recovery operations in Hamadan. In Isfahan, a high-value Kochav drone was shot down reportedly valued at $10 million, and used for long-range ISR and limited strike capability. According to Israeli media, this drone was deployed to disrupt Iranian missile operations but was neutralized before achieving its objective.

Security forces in Semnan Province also reported the interception of a drone in Shahroud, and similar successful operations were reported in Ahvaz, Qom, Dehloran, and Mashhad Airport. In Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province, two Israeli drones were destroyed, while in East Azerbaijan, four Israeli UAVs were downed.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Cyber and Police Intelligence units have uncovered multiple sites in Tehran, Isfahan, and Alborz that were being used for manufacturing drones and explosives. Several suspects involved in sabotage and psychological warfare have been arrested.

One of the most significant revelations came from the Governor of Varamin City, southeast of Tehran, who confirmed that Iranian air defenses shot down an Israeli F-35 fighter jet in the Javad Abad area — marking a historic first. If confirmed, this would be the first F-35 to be destroyed in combat globally.

— ❗️NOTE: Iran's Fordow nuclear enrichment facility is located approximately 90 meters deep underground, and the maximum penentration of a single GBU-57 'MOP' (Massive Ordnance Penentrator) is 60 meters in optimal conditions.

The penentration capability of the MOP is likely much lower in rock formations with a higher PSI density, like the granite mountains near Qom where Fordow is located.

The Americans would almost certainly need to drop at least 3-4 of these bombs in the very same pinpoint location to even have a chance at damaging the main underground enrichment halls, assuming they are not dispersed.

Even then, U.S. military research shows that every 'additional' GBU-57 dropped on the original crater only increases the depth by around 20-30%, and reaches a total plateau at around the 4th bomb.

The debris / smoke that would be emitted from the initial strike on the mountain would already complicate the dropping of the second bomb due to limited visibility, which impacts accuracy and effectiveness.

All of this is assuming that Fordow is located directly under the 90 meters of granite rock, without any additional fortifications like UHP (Ultra High Performance) concrete surrounding the enrichment halls, as well as blast proof ceilings and air-burst shafts.

The only RELIABLE way to destroy Fordow is with a tactical nuclear warhead, which Trump will never do, because that would almost certainly open up the way for Putin to use tactical nukes in Ukraine.
