During its ongoing war on Gaza, the Israeli army has implemented an AI-driven assassination system known as “Lavender”, which effectively automates the process of targeting individuals. According to investigative reports, the system scans the entire population of Gaza and assigns each person a “suspicion score”—an algorithmic judgment of how likely they are to be affiliated with Hamas, based on behavioral patterns, communications, associations, and movements.

The result is an industrial-scale kill list: tens of thousands of names, including minor operatives or simply individuals with similar “terrorist profiles.” Once flagged, targets are passed in real-time to the air force through another program that tracks their movements.

Most assassinations occur at night when suspects return home. Israeli strikes then level the house—killing the target and anyone inside. The system calculates “collateral damage” as part of its operations.

At the start of the campaign, the army reportedly approved the killing of 15–20 civilians for each junior Hamas member.
