🇮🇷 Report — Full Speech of Imam Sayyid Ali Husayni Khamenei (H) on 36th demise anniversary of Imam Sayyid Ruhullah Musawi Khomeini (r): (1/5):

Tomorrow is the Day of Arafah. It is the spring of supplication, the spring of humility, attentiveness, and seeking intercession. We should all, inshaAllah, take advantage of this opportunity. I especially advise the youth to make the most of the Day of Arafah. Let them supplicate, seek intercession, and share their wishes, needs, and goals with Almighty Allah, and ask Allah for help and guidance. I recommend especially to the youth that, in addition to the supplication of Imam Husayn on the Day of Arafah, which is a deeply moving and passionate supplication, they should also read the supplication of Imam Sajjad, which is the 47th supplication in the Sahifa Sajjadiya. Of course, it is a lengthy supplication, but recite as much as your spiritual state allows and you are able to. It is not necessary for a person to recite the entire supplication if they do not have the time or the state or the opportunity.

The political system of our country, alhamdulillah, is a system with growth, stability, and authority. It has emerged and been born from a great revolution. The leader of that revolution, the one who brought it about, and the architect of the Islamic system that arose from it, was a great man who, even after more than thirty years since his passing, his presence in the world is still felt. His influence, his immense influence, and the influence of his revolution can be clearly seen in today’s world. The multipolar international order of the world is influenced by his revolution. The decline of major powers was influenced by the revolution. The sharp decline in the position and influence of the United States in the world is influenced by his revolution. The widespread hatred of Zionism that is clearly seen in the world today is influenced by his revolution. The boldness of many nations, especially their youth, in rejecting Western values, as is observed today, is influenced by his revolution.

Today in the Western world, in Europe, even in the United States and its allied countries, one can see a movement toward disgust with Western values. These are due to the revolution of our noble Imam and the revolution of the Iranian people, which have certainly been largely effective in all of these things and have had a strong impact. Such a revolution was brought about by our noble Imam with the help of the people.

The Islamic Revolution of Iran took the Western world by surprise. They were caught off guard. They did not anticipate it. They never imagined that a single cleric, without equipment or significant financial resources, could bring an entire nation into the field. No one in the West considered this a possibility or thought it could happen.

They did not think that this nation, under the guidance and leadership of a religious scholar, could with empty hands overcome the ruling regime in Iran, a regime armed to the teeth. And this was a regime that was supported by all the world powers, whether from the East or the West.

They never imagined that this regime could be overthrown. They did not imagine that this revolution and this Imam could sweep away the Americans and the Zionists who had been comfortably entrenched in Iran for years, dominating everything, and that they would be driven out entirely, leaving no trace behind in the country.

The next surprise for the Westerners came with the establishment of the Islamic Republic. If after the revolution, a compromising government had come to power as some signs of such a possibility were seen in the early days and if such a conciliatory regime had aligned itself with the West, then the Westerners would have become hopeful again that they could reestablish their influence in Iran and secure their illegitimate interests in the country.

(2/5):

But the Imam expressed his firm and clear stance in building an Islamic state. He made it known both in words and in action that the system emerging from this revolution was an Islamic system, a religious system.

From this point, the conspiracies began. When the Westerners realized the direction in which the revolution was moving and understood where the Iranian people were headed, the enemies’ schemes began. Their destructive and ruinous plots against our dear country and our nation were launched.

I do not know of any revolutionary system in the world, in the history of the past two or three centuries of revolutions, that has been subjected to as many conspiracies, hostility, and enemy planning as this one.

Just look from the beginning of the Revolution: the ethnic provocations they incited ethnic groups; the arming of leftist factions there were some leftist groups in Iran, and they armed them, placed them in universities and other places, preparing them to act against the system. Then came the provocation and support of a bloodthirsty wolf like Saddam Hussein. They provoked him, encouraged him, pushed him to attack our borders. Then came the targeted assassinations: the assassination of Martyr Motahhari, Martyr Beheshti, Martyr Mofatteh, Martyr Rajaei, the martyrs of the prayer niches, and it continued with the assassination of nuclear scientists and revolutionary young activists.

These are all part of the comprehensive design that was launched against the system born of the Revolution in Iran. Then came the sanctions the all-out sanctions. Then direct military attacks like the Tabas operation, the American attack on Tabas and that well-known miraculous event, or the attack on a passenger airplane, the downing of aircraft and similar actions.

All these began from the very start of the Revolution, and of course they continue to this day. The variety, the intensity, and the wickedness of these plots and conspiracies, in my opinion, have no precedent in any other known revolution in the world.

Who carried out these conspiracies? Sometimes terrorist groups act independently, but in Iran that was not the case. These plots, these designs, these acts of malice were carried out by arrogant governments mainly America and Zionism and by well-known intelligence agencies of the world, such as the CIA of America, MI6 of Britain, and Mossad of the Zionist regime. These conspiracies were carried out by them.

The Islamic system, the Islamic Republic, withstood all these conspiracies, designs, and hostilities. It endured. It neutralized these plots. If we were to count, probably more than a thousand conspiracies were neutralized by the Islamic Republic. Some of them were even responded to.

The important point is that all of these plots were aimed at weakening the Islamic Republic, yet the Islamic Republic was not weakened. Rather, day by day, its capabilities and strength increased not only inside the country but also beyond its borders, the various capacities of the Islamic Republic expanded.

And here I say to the Iranian nation, and to all who care about Iran’s affairs, know that from now on as well, with Allah’s success, we will continue to enhance our comprehensive national power as much as we can.

Social uprisings around the world are usually formed with the help of emotions. Emotions assist in shaping social uprisings and in their victory. If there is some thought or rationality behind these emotions, it often gets lost or fades in the midst of the opinions and judgments that arise from those emotions.

Very often, emotions influence the rational goals of uprisings. What is the result? The result is that when emotions subside, the path the revolution was created for begins to change, because the rationality that was behind the uprising has become lost or weakened. Therefore, the path is altered. There are many examples of this in history.

(3/5):

The Imam protected the Islamic Revolution from this destructive affliction and granted it immunity. With divine foresight and rationality rooted in faith in Allah and in the unseen, the great Imam ensured that this affliction would not take hold of the Islamic Revolution. That is to say, in our revolution too, there were many emotions. But he ensured that emotions would not derail the original correct path of the revolution or mislead the people away from it.

The Imam ensured that emotions would not be able to divert the main, correct course of the revolution and the movement of the people from their path. What did he do? The Imam’s rationality, which enabled him to do this, manifested in two essential pillars: one was Wilayat al-Faqih, and the other was national independence.

The first pillar, therefore, was Wilayat al-Faqih. Wilayat al-Faqih preserved the religious dimension of this revolution. Without it, this revolution that was born with religious motivation and with sacrifices rooted in faith in Allah would have deviated from the path of religion.

The second pillar was national independence. Of course, national independence does not mean cutting off ties with the surrounding world. Some people should not make the false argument that we have isolated ourselves. No, absolutely not. Independence does not mean having no relations with others. Independence means that Iran, the Iranian nation, stands on its own feet.

The repeated themes in the Imam’s statements fall under this concept of national independence. I will mention a few of these themes. One such theme is the principle of “We can.” The Imam taught us to say and believe that we are capable. During the previous regime, they used to say and made the people believe that we cannot; that we are incapable; that others have to do things for us. The Imam inserted the exact opposite into the national identity of the Iranian people: “We can,” meaning he revived self-confidence in the people and especially in the youth.

This “We can” is so important that there are deliberate efforts to negate it. Right now, in the recent nuclear issue and the negotiations happening with Oman’s mediation, the plan that the Americans have proposed is entirely opposed to the idea of “We can.”

The nuclear industry is not just for energy. Some people imagine that the nuclear industry is only about clean electricity, which of course it is as well clean and inexpensive energy comes from the nuclear industry. But it is not limited to that. This is only one part of the benefits of the nuclear industry.

The nuclear industry is a foundational industry, a mother industry. Experts, scientists, and those whose profession it is have explained this to us, and I hope they explain it more to the people as well. Many scientific fields are influenced by the nuclear industry. Numerous scientific areas are impacted by it, including precision and sensitive technologies such as medical equipment, aerospace, precision sensors, and electronics all of these are related to or influenced by the nuclear industry. This includes basic sciences and engineering fields such as nuclear physics, energy engineering, and materials engineering.

It also includes medical and pharmaceutical applications, both in diagnosis and treatment. The nuclear industry leads in treating certain difficult diseases in both diagnosis and treatment.

In agriculture-related industries, in environmental industries, there are numerous areas like these that are either dependent on or influenced by the nuclear industry.

The nuclear industry is a mother industry, a core industry. Now within the nuclear industry, there is a key element, and that is uranium enrichment.

Our enemies have focused on uranium enrichment. They have fixated on this point. A nuclear industry of such magnitude, without the ability to enrich uranium, is useless. Because for fueling our power plants, we would have to reach out to others.

It’s like having oil in your own country but being prohibited from building refineries or producing gasoline. You have oil, but you must buy gasoline from others. That country may choose to sell to you or not, and at any price it wants. If it doesn’t want to sell, it will come up with excuses. It might say: “Do such-and-such, or else I won’t give you gasoline.”

That is their goal. Even if we had a hundred nuclear power plants, without enrichment, they would be of no use to us. Because a nuclear plant needs fuel. If we cannot produce this fuel domestically, we will have to stretch our hand toward America. And they might attach dozens of conditions to providing us with nuclear fuel. We experienced this in the 2000s.

In the 2000s, over 20% enrichment fuel, the President of the United States himself used two presidents of our friendly countries as intermediaries to tell Iran: “Give us a portion of your 3.5% enriched uranium, and we will give you the 20% fuel that you need.”

We needed the 20% fuel. Our officials agreed. It was decided that there would be an exchange. I said this exchange must be such that they bring the 20% fuel to Bandar Abbas, we test it to ensure it is accurate, then we will take it and give them the 3.5% fuel.

When they saw that we were being meticulous and firm about receiving the 20% fuel, they broke their promise and did not deliver. Of course, during that very time, while our officials were involved in these political tussles over the matter, our scientists inside the country themselves produced the 20% fuel.

(5/5):

The Americans’ main position is that Iran should not have a nuclear industry at all. They want Iran to be dependent on them for radiopharmaceuticals, for energy, for desalination devices, and for dozens of other important fields. They demand that Iran have no nuclear industry whatsoever.

Right now, we have thousands of young scientists in nuclear and nuclear-related fields in the country. Should we disappoint them? Leave them unemployed? Make them lose hope in their country’s future? This is what the Americans want, what they are demanding from us.

The rude and insolent leaders of America repeat this demand in various ways. They are against progress against Iran’s progress, against the self-sufficiency of the Iranian nation. Our response to the nonsense of the loud and incompetent U.S. government is clear. Everyone knows how we’ll respond.

Some years ago, a U.S. president once said, “If I could, I would dismantle every nut and bolt of Iran’s nuclear program.” But he admitted he couldn’t. And since then, the nuts and bolts of our nuclear industry have become even more solid. He confessed: “I couldn’t, if I could, I would have.”

Those in power today whether Zionists or Americans should also know: they can’t. They can’t do a damn thing in this matter.

The first thing we tell the Americans and others regarding nuclear issues is this:

Who do you think you are? Why do you interfere in whether Iran should have enrichment or not? What business is it of yours?

You have nuclear capabilities. You have atomic bombs. You possess massive destructive power. What right do you have to decide whether the Iranian nation may enrich uranium or not? Whether it may have a nuclear industry or not? This is a sovereign nation; it decides for itself. It has nothing to do with you. What legal or moral standing do you have to make these statements?

As for the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza they are truly shocking. One could hardly believe they had such criminal plans.

Look: previously, they would drop a bomb, destroy a house or two, kill ten or fifteen people. They saw that it wasn’t enough.

Now what are they doing? Now they set up a “food distribution center.” Since food is not being allowed into Gaza, people rush to these places to get food. Then, with machine guns, they kill ten times more than what they could with a bomb. Killing people was costing them too much. So they made it cheaper. Instead of bombs, they now use bullets.

This is truly astonishing. Such a crime makes one marvel at how low, wicked, and evil a human being can be to commit something like this.

Today, Islamic governments have a serious responsibility. I want to be blunt with them: now is not the time for politeness, hesitation, or neutrality. Today is not the time for silence.

If any Islamic government, in any way or under any pretext, supports the Zionist regime — whether by normalizing relations, blocking aid to Palestine, or justifying Zionist crimes — know this: eternal disgrace will be stamped on their foreheads.

Governments should also understand: no government can achieve security by relying on the Zionist regime. They cannot obtain security through dependence on this regime, because the Zionist regime is, by the decisive will of God, in the process of collapse, and God willing, it will not last long.

| For those who missed it, read again what Imam Khamenei (H) said to the Americans—sharply and without compromise:

“Who do you think you are? Why do you interfere in whether Iran should have uranium enrichment or not? What business is it of yours?
You possess nuclear capabilities. You hold atomic bombs. The power to annihilate entire populations sits in your hands so with what right do you dictate to Iran?

This is a sovereign nation. The Iranian people will decide for themselves. It has nothing to do with you.
You have no legal, no moral standing to make these demands.”

These weren’t just words. They were a direct slap to Washington and Tel Avivwho parade their war machines around the world, yet expect nations like Iran to kneel.

They heard it. They know what it means. And if they think this is just rhetoric, they’re welcome to try and test the will behind those words.
