♨️ At low heats: olive oil and avocado oil (make sure it is cold pressed, unrefined, and single-source)
✅ Preferably and at any heat: butter, ghee, [halal] tallow, coconut oil
❕ If economic conditions are an issue to buying healthy fat sources like butter and tallow, then a more plentiful and low-cost option is unrefined, cold-pressed, organic sesame and sunflower oils. Unrefined and cold-pressed versions are sometimes not easy to find (thank God, in the Islamic Republic of Iran, there are many places that sell pure, unprocessed sesame and sunflower oils).

They call themselves Muwahhidun (Monotheists) and, while historically linked to Ismailis, they later diverged into a distinct religious group. Neither Ismailis (such as the Bohra and Agha Khanis) nor Druze are considered part of mainstream Shiism, and Twelver Shiites do not share any doctrinal references with them.
Throughout history, the Druze have maintained secrecy regarding their beliefs, often practicing taqiyya (dissimulation) to protect their community and adapt to different political environments. the Druze belief system includes the concept of divine manifestation (tajalli), where they believe that God has manifested Himself in human form throughout different cycles of existence. They hold that al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah, the sixth Fatimid caliph (r. 996–1021 CE), was the final and ultimate manifestation of God. This is central to their doctrine and distinguishes them from mainstream Islamic sects, including both Twelver Shi’ism and Sunni Islam.
The concept of lahut (divinity) and nasut (humanity) in Druze theology suggests that the divine essence (lahut) can be present within a human being (nasut), motivating people to seek closeness to God. This doctrine is complex and esoteric, making Druze teachings largely inaccessible to outsiders.
Because of their unique theological beliefs, the Druze do not share a common religious foundation with mainstream Muslims, and their secrecy has contributed to both misunderstanding and political complexities in the regions where they reside. This historical pragmatism has led to complex alliances, including periods of cooperation with colonial and occupying forces, such as the French during their mandate over Syria and Lebanon, and later, Israel. However, their political stance has never been uniform, and while some Druze factions have collaborated with Israel—especially in occupied Palestine—others have resisted Zionist influence and remain aligned with anti-Israeli movements.
In contemporary times, some Druze individuals and groups have moved toward adopting Sunni Hanafi or Shia Jafari jurisprudence, but these numbers are not widely publicized. Recent events in Syria and Palestine have once again highlighted the split within the Druze population. Throughout history, the Druze have maintained secrecy regarding their beliefs, often practicing taqiyya (dissimulation) to protect their community and adapt to different political environments. the Druze belief system includes the concept of divine manifestation (tajalli), where they believe that God has manifested Himself in human form throughout different cycles of existence. They hold that al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah, the sixth Fatimid caliph (r. 996–1021 CE), was the final and ultimate manifestation of God. This is central to their doctrine and distinguishes them from mainstream Islamic sects, including both Twelver Shi’ism and Sunni Islam.
The concept of lahut (divinity) and nasut (humanity) in Druze theology suggests that the divine essence (lahut) can be present within a human being (nasut), motivating people to seek closeness to God. This doctrine is complex and esoteric, making Druze teachings largely inaccessible to outsiders.
Because of their unique theological beliefs, the Druze do not share a common religious foundation with mainstream Muslims, and their secrecy has contributed to both misunderstanding and political complexities in the regions where they reside. This historical pragmatism has led to complex alliances, including periods of cooperation with colonial and occupying forces, such as the French during their mandate over Syria and Lebanon, and later, Israel. However, their political stance has never been uniform, and while some Druze factions have collaborated with Israel—especially in occupied Palestine—others have resisted Zionist influence and remain aligned with anti-Israeli movements.
In contemporary times, some Druze individuals and groups have moved toward adopting Sunni Hanafi or Shia Jafari jurisprudence, but these numbers are not widely publicized. Meanwhile, political divisions within the Druze community persist, with some aligning with Israel and others supporting the Axis of Resistance.
Recent events in Syria and Palestine have once again highlighted the split within the Druze population. While some have celebrated the entrance of Israeli forces into Gaza and supported foreign-backed factions like the Julani gang in Syria, others continue to resist Israeli influence and remain committed to the sovereignty of Syria and the Palestinian cause. There have also been reports of UAE-backed efforts to push the Druze leadership toward surrendering to Israeli and Western-backed plans in the region.
However, despite these political realities, it is crucial to differentiate between those who actively collaborate with Israel and those who oppose it. As with any community, blanket accusations or calls for collective punishment are unjust. The Druze, regardless of their beliefs, should be regarded as human beings, and their blood must not be unjustly spilled. Only those who actively collude with Israel and oppress others should be held accountable for their actions.
