🚩Adieu | Martyrdom Anniversary of Hezbollah's Hezbollah; Shaheed Hajj Ridwan, Imad Mughniyah (r): (1/2):

Imad Mughniyeh, known as “Hajj Radwan,” was born in 1962 in the village of Tayr Dabba, located in the province of Tyre, into a religious and prominent family. His uncle, Hujjat al-Islam wa al-Muslimeen Jawad Mughniyeh, was a renowned Shiite scholar in Lebanon, whose jurisprudential works were widely known among religious and academic circles. His family included his father, mother, and two brothers, Jihad and Fouad, both of whom were martyred before Imad.

Raised in a deeply spiritual atmosphere, Imad Mughniyeh began his jihad against the Zionist regime before turning sixteen. He engaged in various military activities, including with groups like Fatah and Amal, to support the Palestinian cause. In the early 1980s, he joined the “17th Force,” the military wing of the Palestine Liberation Movement, a special unit formed to protect key figures like Abu Ammar, Abu Jihad, and Abu D’Iyad. His efforts played a crucial role in transferring weapons from the Palestine Liberation Movement to the Lebanese Islamic Resistance, later represented by Hezbollah and the Amal Movement. However, after the Zionist occupation of Lebanon in 1982, fighters from the Palestine Liberation Movement were forced to withdraw.

During the occupation, Imad Mughniyeh and his allies clashed with the Israeli occupiers at the entrance to Beirut in the Khold area, earning them the name “Al-Makhiniyyun” forces. Following the establishment of Hezbollah, Imad Mughniyeh joined their ranks and became determined to directly confront the Zionist occupiers. After successfully carrying out numerous operations, he was appointed the commander of Hezbollah’s security detail for high-ranking officials and later became the head of Hezbollah’s special operations. Known for his reclusive nature, Mughniyeh earned the moniker of the “shadow man” of the Islamic resistance and was considered by many to be the mastermind behind Hezbollah’s operations.

In 1983, during an operation against the United States in Kuwait, Mughniyeh was captured but managed to escape through various cunning methods. His true identity was discovered by the CIA, and they launched a pursuit for him across Lebanon and the West Asia during the Battle of Badr.

Shaheed Mughniyeh played a pivotal role in Hezbollah’s heroic battles against the Israeli occupying army, particularly during the 2000 operation that led to the liberation of southern Lebanon.

The 2006 summer war, known as the 33-Day War, showcased the peak of Imad Mughniyeh’s bravery, wisdom, and leadership, particularly during the humiliating defeat inflicted on the Zionist regime. In the wake of this defeat, the Zionists resorted to a terrorist operation to eliminate Imad Mughniyeh. In 1996, the regime had already attempted to assassinate him in Beirut, resulting in the martyrdom of his brother Fouad.

On February 12, 2008, the night of Imam Husayn's daughter Hazrat Ruqayyah’s (PBUH) martyrdom, Imad Mughniyeh achieved his long-cherished wish and joined his martyred brothers and comrades, becoming a permanent symbol of resistance and sacrifice for the cause of Islam.

With the emergence of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon as a revolutionary vanguard movement, Hajj Ridwan soon joined this Islamic struggle—a movement that secured the first great and unparalleled victory of Muslims over the Zionists at the beginning of the third millennium. Before the July 2006 war, Muslims had suffered consecutive defeats. For a hundred years, since the emergence of the Zionist entity, Arabs and Muslims had been unable to achieve victory over the Zionists in West Asia.

But thanks to the existence of this extraordinary man, who utilized his intelligence, strategic skills, and military creativity, the very foundations of the Zionist regime and the espionage circles of the U.S. were shaken. He inflicted serious blows on all the arrogant powers that conspired against the Islamic nation, seeking to erase its historical and cultural standing. These arrogant forces aimed to subjugate Muslim nations, but Hajj Ridwan’s vision was as vast as the geography of the Islamic world. He coordinated revolutionary movements, not merely as a military strategist but as a man of deep faith. He worshipped only the One God, prostrated solely before His majesty, and combined sincerity to God with humility in life. Like the great mystics, he merged divine love with service to humanity. His words alone embodied a nation, just as Allah said about Prophet Ibrahim (A): “Indeed, Ibrahim was a nation.” Imam Khomeini (r) similarly said about Martyr Beheshti: “Beheshti was a nation.” He himself was a nation—that is why we said he was Hezbollah’s Hezbollah.

Hajj Ridwan learned the sciences of warfare from the realities of life. He was blessed with divine gifts that enabled him to organize military battles and secure victories with minimal resources. He did not liberate South Lebanon with F-16 fighter jets, nuclear bombs, or American-made laser weapons. Instead, he achieved this victory using the simplest military equipment. He targeted the heart of the enemy with weapons so light and discreet that enemy radars failed to detect them. Sometimes, he even employed quadrupeds to outmaneuver advanced military technology—a testament to his tactical brilliance.

How can a small resistance group defeat an army armed with the most sophisticated Western weapons? Hajj Imad answered this question through guerrilla warfare, defeating the Israeli army with minimal yet effective means. Even today, armed operations in occupied Palestine—conducted by brigades bearing his name—reflect the lasting impact of his vision. His role in organizing these brigades and inspiring the Palestinian resistance was significant. He played a crucial role in shaping strategic policies during Israeli aggression against Gaza.

When the Zionists discovered that Hajj Imad Mughniyah was strengthening Palestinian resistance movements in Gaza, they plotted his assassination. However, the Mossad did not act alone. Do you believe that certain Arab intelligence agencies also aided them? Yes, unfortunately, the Mossad terrorist organization bribed traitors with massive sums of money. These collaborators identified the Damascus apartment where Hajj Imad was temporarily staying and provided its location to Mossad agents. Thus, in a cowardly act of treachery, they martyred one of the greatest military minds of the resistance.

Till today, the satanic cults of Tel Aviv, Quds, and other Israeli institutions quote and cite him. His methods of fighting and his legacy continue to haunt his enemies.

But his legacy lives on. His name remains a symbol of defiance, and his path continues through the struggle of the oppressed against their oppressors.

May Allah uplift his soul. May Allah grant the suffering nations of Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria full freedom on behalf of this blood which was spilled for the cause of this great freedom. Salute to you, Imad Mughniyah.

Another honor of this great leader was sacrificing his brother and his son, Jihad, the icon, the majestic shining star that illuminated the faces of Hezbollah members, its elders, and its followers. Jihad Mughniyeh (born 1991) did the best, achieving three times more than what could have been expected. He fought against the worst of creation on this earth, glorifying his father’s name, and returning to his father in paradise in 2015.

Tabari and other scholars of both sects have cited references about when Abbas (A), the son of Ali (A), lost all of his brothers on the battlefield. He returned to his tent with full confidence, roaring like a lion and searching for his ten-year-old son. He asked his son Muhammad, “Are you ready?” He returned, fully confident in his father’s faithful command, ready to fight. Muhammad went to the battlefield, fought alone, and attained martyrdom.
