It did not matter to him if the outcome was his martyrdom alongside a group of his family and companions, if that was the best way to safeguard the religion from the distortions of the false and the doubts of the misguided. That was Allah’s will, and that was His command. How could he not rise to fulfill his duty? Therefore, the inscription on his ring aligned perfectly with this resolve: ‘Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose.’”
