The most honest of leaders and bravest of men, the Master of the Mujahideen of the time, Sayed Hassan Nasrallah has risen to his Lord - not on a hospital bed in the shade under the tyrant who promises security at the cost of principle, but in the heart of Dahyeh facing the forces of evil. He was martyred while engaged in planning the defense of the defenseless people of Beirut’s Dahiya (southern suburb), their destroyed homes, and their martyred loved ones, just as he had spent decades planning, organizing, and striving to defend the oppressed people of Palestine, their seized towns and villages, their demolished homes, and their massacred loved ones. The honor of martyrdom after all these efforts was his rightful due.
The Islamic world has lost a great personality; the Resistance Front has lost a prominent leader, and Hezbollah Lebanon has lost an unparalleled leader. Yet, the blessings of his decades-long leadership and jihad will never be lost. The foundation he laid in Lebanon and the direction he gave to other centers of resistance will not only endure in his absence but will grow stronger through the blood of him and other martyrs of this incident. By the will and power of Allah, the blows of the Resistance Front upon the decaying and collapsing body of the Zionist regime will intensify. The Airstrikes on the Southern Suburbs are Genocidal Acts Against Civilians.
The zionist enemy has continuously committed massacres against unarmed civilians, with no regard for human values, international charters and laws, or ethical boundaries. The latest of these massacres was the targeting of residential buildings in the southern suburbs of Beirut with tons of explosives, turning these buildings into rubble over the heads of their residents, including children, women, and the elderly. Others were forcibly evicted from their homes at night, threatened with air raids on flimsy pretexts, and then the threats were carried out, and their homes were bombed. In light of this, the Islamic Group affirms the following:
We condemn and denounce the massacre committed by the zionist enemy against entire residential neighborhoods in the southern suburbs of Beirut when it bombed the residential buildings and leveled them to the ground, with no regard for humanitarian or legal considerations. We affirm that this practice can only be described as genocide against the residents.
We consider that the genocidal war waged by the zionist enemy against civilian populations is primarily aimed at pressuring the resistance to surrender and imposing its terms on Lebanon, in an attempt to compensate for its disgrace in Gaza.
We believe that the countries that cover up or remain silent about the occupation's massacres and crimes are complicit in these massacres. The countries that remain silent out of weakness will eventually pay the price, especially since this monster has revealed its fangs even to its supporters and sponsors. We call on these countries to reconsider their stance before they become another prey to it.
We commend the Lebanese people's humanitarian solidarity in embracing the displaced and call for unity in this critical phase, recognizing that everyone is a target of this occupation.
