In a meeting earlier today (Tuesday) with Ismail Haniyeh, Head of Hamas’ Political Bureau, and Ziad al-Nakhalah, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Imam Khamenei praised the remarkable steadfastness and resistance of the oppressed people of Gaza. He emphasized that today, the highest flag of Islam is held by the Palestinian people and the people of Gaza. Thanks to this resistance, there is now a greater opportunity to promote Islam.
Imam Khamenei noted that one of the ongoing concerns of Islamic thinkers is how to promote Islam and present a model of an Islamic society. He added that the growing interest in Islam at present reflects the greatness of the resistance of the Palestinian people and the people of Gaza.
Imam Khamenei emphasized that the primary source of the grandeur and glory of resistance is the people of Gaza and the West Bank, and he hoped that the Palestinian people and resistance forces would receive divine assistance, support, and blessings.
During the meeting, Ismail Haniyeh congratulated the election of Iran’s new president, describing the recent elections as a manifestation of democracy based on Islamic principles. Referring to his meeting with Mr. Pezeshkian, he said: “In that meeting, we once again witnessed the strong and steadfast positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the Palestinian issue and the resistance movement, and we felt proud of these positions.”
Hamas’ Political Bureau Chief detailed the latest developments in Gaza and the West Bank, stating that yesterday marked the 300th day of the Gaza war. He indicated that the situation has now reached a crucial and historic phase where the Palestinian people and resistance forces need to consolidate their victory.
Ziad al-Nakhalah, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, also congratulated Mr. Pezeshkian on his election and praised his support for Palestine and the resistance.
