The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, showed flexibility and positivity with the efforts of the mediators throughout all previous indirect negotiating rounds, leading up to the announcement of approval of the mediator brothers’ proposal on May 6th.
The occupation used these negotiations as a cover for the continuation of aggression and massacres against our Palestinian people, and responded to our positive position by invading the city of Rafah and occupying the crossing, and made remarks that lead to disrupting the efforts of the mediators.
The Hamas movement and the Palestinian factions will not accept to be part of this policy by continuing negotiations in light of aggression, killing, siege, starvation and genocide of our people.
We informed the mediators today of our clear position that if the occupation stops its war and aggression against our people in Gaza, our readiness to reach a full agreement that includes a comprehensive exchange deal.

Grand Ayatollah Reza Mahdavi Kani led the Assembly of Experts from 2010 until his death in 2014. He became the interim prime minister on 2 September 1981 and was in office until 29 October 1981, following the assassination of President Mohammad Ali Rajai and Prime Minister Mohammad Javad Bahonar.
Interestingly, history has repeated itself as his nephew now holds an acting position after the tragic loss of two significant leaders – a coincidence or symbolic.
Mesbah al-Hoda Bagheri Kani, Ali Bagheri Kani’s brother, is married to Huda Khamenei, the daughter of Imam Khamenei and living a very simply non-political life.
Ali Bagheri Kani’s parents and grandparents were scholars of high distinction, educated by eminent authorities, and were notable revolutionaries of their time, having fought against the Shah.
He himself is well-educated and has held significant positions previously. Ali Bagheri Kani is also a close friend and colleague of Dr. Saeed Jalili.
