The Rafah crossing symbolizes Palestinian sovereignty over their land and borders and serves as a lifeline for Gazans.

Israeli control over Rafah and raising the Israeli flag there confirms Israel’s stance against declaring a Palestinian state, asserting that all of Palestine from the sea to the river is under Israeli occupation.

Israel will not accept returning control of Rafah to Hamas and will insist on managing it through their proxy, the “Palestinian Authority,” or international forces as a condition for ending the conflict.

The Forces have followed what the media reported about a plan for an American security company to manage and monitor the Rafah border crossing. Regardless of the accuracy of these reports; the Follow-up Committee for the National and Islamic Forces confirms:

- It will not accept from any party the imposition of any form of guardianship on the Rafah crossing or others, and considers this a form of occupation, and any plan of this type will be dealt with as we deal with the occupation.

- We call on the Arab League and all Arab and Islamic countries, especially the brothers in the Arab Republic of Egypt, given their weight on the international and regional levels, to reject any plans and attempts that affect Palestinian-Egyptian sovereignty over the Rafah crossing.

- We urge all parties to reject any form of cooperation with such plans, as the management of internal affairs is a purely Palestinian matter that is agreed upon nationally through the mechanisms agreed upon.
