⚡️ What Changed in iGaming While Everyone Was Busy Working

Hey everyone! We've put together a fresh roundup of iGaming news. Here are the most notable events of recent days — from advertising and regulation changes to major investigations and new restrictions.

📌 Google Updates Gambling Advertising Rules
— From August 26, Google is introducing new gambling advertising certification requirements. A separate application will now be required for each GEO, along with mandatory local license confirmation, updated landing page requirements, and re-certification upon data changes. The new rules will affect operators, affiliates, and aggregators.

📌 Brazil Tightens Control
— Brazil's Ministry of Finance has opened 106 administrative cases against bookmaking companies since the start of 2025. The reviews have touched 73 out of 85 licensed operators, with 39 cases already closed.
— Meanwhile, 74% of all bets in Q2 2026 did not exceed 50 Brazilian reals (approximately $9.75).

📌 New Restrictions Across Various GEOs
— In the Philippines, a bill has been introduced to completely ban gambling advertising. The restrictions cover television, radio, the internet, social media, and advertising involving celebrities and influencers.

— New Zealand's regulator has banned the use of references to luck, fate, rituals, and superstitions in gambling advertising.
— From August 1, New Zealand has also officially banned greyhound racing. $35 million will be directed toward closing down the industry and rehoming the animals.

— Australian users have lost access to mini-games with gambling mechanics in GTA Online — including poker, roulette, and blackjack. Similar restrictions are already in place in more than 50 countries.
