๐๐Congratulations on the successful completion of Project Oryares' very first donation!
โ Patient 1: 23 years old Male
Admitted to the surgical ward after he sustained a bullet injury to the abdomen and lower extremity
๐ฅ This resulted in ileal perforation, adhesion, and post-op collection for which ileal resection and drainage of the collection were done.
๐ฅ His poor nutritional status made the healing process difficult and he subsequently developed wound dehiscence, fistula and a surgical site infection. He was malnourished and unstable.
๐He urgently needed total parenteral nutrition (TPN) and high protein diet as well as the medications such as: Unfractionated Heparin, Morphine, Tramadol, Omeprazole, Ceftriaxone and Metronidazole.
โจDue to the price and unavailability of TPN we were able to donate its substitute Ensure (meal supplement), Unfractionated Heparin, and Omeprazole โจ
๐ We are grateful for the efforts of all involved, including those who bought thickets, the social service office and the responsible intern who delivered the medications to the patient.
๐ Wishing fast recovery for the patient, we are excited to see the impact this project will have on the community. This is just the beginning of many more donations to come.
๐ Thank you for your dedication and generosity towards improving the lives of those in need.

We had a blast today at the "Mental health project" prepared by SCOPH-HMC, SCOPH-ECUSTA, SCOPH-AA, SCOPH-St.PAUL, SCOPH LORCAN & SCOPH-MMC. So proud to see how successfuly it turned out. We had a panel discussion on Mental health regarding medical students in addition to fun games. Finally ending the night with our open air cinema where there were snacks and drinks. It was great to meet everyone from the other LCs and we hope to have other future projects with you all.

โค๏ธ This month we will cover cancers related to men in our SHRH-Ed Weekly to raise awareness!
"Movember" is a portmanteau of "mo," which is short for mustache, and "November." It refers to an annual event that takes place during the month of November, where men around the world grow mustaches to raise awareness and funds for men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health problems. Participants, often referred to as "Mo Bros," grow mustaches throughout November to spark conversations about these important health topics and encourage men to take charge of their well-being.
