Do you want to make a difference in your community? Join us by volunteering in the DM and Hypertension Screening Program for the elderly at Teklehaymanot Hospital, organized by SCOPH MMC, ECUSTA and HMC. Our goal is to provide free health screenings to elderly people who need it most. Volunteers will be tasked to help by joining any one of the following teams based on year of education:
-Health education team
-Health screening team
-Facilitators' team

The University's interim President, Br. Hans Moran, and Vice-president, Br. Getachew Nadew, started the event with a welcome speech. During the event, the renowned consultant neurosurgeon, Dr. Zenebe Gedlie, and the mental health advocate and GIV co-founder, Dr. Misiker Kassahun, shared their best practices as students, personal experiences, and challenges in their personal and professional careers. They also discussed the possibility of thinking and engaging beyond the study and practices of medicine to the point where they can become multidisciplinary and talented professionals in the panel discussion led by Ms. Rediet Getachew, a PC-II medical student. Dr. Teferi Desta and Mr. Jodahe Bezabih also shared their journeys and experiences, showcasing their contributions for the students to expand their horizons and think outside the box.

The former founder and dean of ECUSTA medical school, Dr. Tsedeke Asaminew, addressed the importance of being an empathic and humane doctor in this AI-driven era where medical advancement reaches such high precision that as medical doctors, we must better be "thinkers of our thinking," unlike any other being or AI. Dr. Tsedeke is one of the experts who has introduced "The Art of Healing" in the ECUSTA's Medicine Curriculum.

Thank you to all the incredible guest speakers and attendees, our fellow medical students from St. Paul Millennium Medical College, Black Lion Medical College, Hayat Medical College, Myungsung Medical College, and Lorcan Medical College. Dear EMSA-ETHIOPIA Family, it is finally here!!!

Welcome to the official participants registration form for the 8th EMSA-ETHIOPIA general assembly!

This year, the Ethiopian Medical Students' Association will be hosting its 8th National General Assembly in the beautiful city of Jimma, between April 23-29, 2023!

Pre-General Assembly will be held between April 24-25, 2023. 
This year's workshops include:
1. Training of new Trainers (TNT)
2. Medical Students for SDGs
3. Medical Students for Accreditation

General Assembly will be held between April 26-28, 2023. 
Attendees will be: representatives from each of the 16 Local Chapters, stakeholders, and selected partner organizations that are involved in the association’s work. We will also be having approximately 16 new candidate local chapters attending this assembly.
