Professor Asrat Woldey , was an Ethiopian medical LEGEND!
Born on June 20, 1928, in Ethiopia. Renowned as the first Ethiopian to qualify as a surgeon in the West, Asrat made his mark at the University of Edinburgh, UK📚 & returned to to revolutionize healthcare! 🏥
📍His GREATEST achievement?
💥 Pioneering Medical Education: As the dean of medicine at AAU, Prof. was instrumental in shaping the curriculum and training future doctors.
💥Advancements in Surgery
💥Mentorship and Training: Committed to knowledge-sharing, he mentored countless students and medical practitioners to be COMPASSIONATE & dedicated! ❤️🌍
💥Health policy: He advised on health policies that impacted the wider Ethiopian populace, helping to improve medical standards.
⛳️Asrat wasn't just an administrator; he was a brilliant surgeon! 🔪

🚨 Hemorrhagic Fever Alert | Jinka 🚨
8 suspected cases reported in South Ethiopia Region. Confirmatory testing underway at EPHI.
🦠 What is VHF?
Severe illnesses(Ebola, Marburg, CCHF, Lassa) that damage blood vessels and disrupt clotting.
🩺 Recognize Symptoms
· Early: High fever, severe fatigue, muscle aches, dizziness
· Progressive: Vomiting, diarrhea, rash, abdominal pain
· Severe: Bleeding from gums/nose, shock, organ failure
⚠️ Early signs mimic malaria/typhoid !!
🛡️ Protection Guidelines
1. Report & Isolate: Immediately report sick individuals. Avoid contact and bodily fluids
2. Hygiene: Frequent hand washing with soap/sanitizer
3. Safety: Avoid sick animals. Cook food thoroughly
💊 Emergency Response
· Seek medical care IMMEDIATELY
· Do NOT treat at home , it has a high transmission risk
· Early supportive treatment saves lives
