In celebration of World Breastfeeding Week, SCORA-AA held a community outreach program on August 20th as part of SCORA Ethiopiaโ€™s nationwide awareness campaign. ๐Ÿคฑ

The event took place at Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital, where new and expectant mothers received health education on breastfeeding. Guided by the Project Mereja brochure, our outreach team shared clear and practical information on the benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and child, key breastfeeding practices, proper positioning techniques, and strategies to overcome common challenges.

SCORA-AA extends heartfelt appreciation to all who took part through active engagement in the outreach.

๐Ÿค” You might wonder what our exchange students do when they come here. Well, they are here
for research observership and shadowing. They get to experience research in Ethiopia, specifically research in medicine.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿซ The first two weeks of this month, our exchange students had a few sessions at EPHI, visited the facilities and some even shadowed a research with the title "Carbapenem Resistant Enterobactericeae" - which was a great opportunity.

๐Ÿ™We would like to express our warmest gratitude to Mr. Feyisa - Director of the laboratory unit at EPHI, Mr. Zeleke and Mrs. Etsehiwot - the researchers, Mr. Nega - department head, Mrs. Firehiwot and many more who helped us have an amazing experience at EPHI.

๐Ÿ™Œ As always, we hope our students have a wonderful time this month.

Until the next issue...

Last weekend, we set out on a three-day tour to Arbaminch, one of Ethiopiaโ€™s most breathtaking destinations. ๐ŸŒฟโœจ The journey was nothing short of amazing, offering us the perfect blend of nature, adventure, and culture.

Our first stop was the stunning Nech Sar National Park, where endless green landscapes, wildlife, and fresh air gave us a true taste of Ethiopiaโ€™s natural beauty. We visited the majestic Lake Chamo, famous for its massive crocodilesโ€”some believed to be over 100 years old! ๐ŸŠ Watching them in their natural habitat was both thrilling and unforgettable.

We also had the chance to immerse ourselves in the colorful traditions of the Dorze village. Known for its warm hospitality, cultural richness, unique handwoven attires, and traditional drinks, the experience was a beautiful reminder of Ethiopiaโ€™s diverse heritage.

Three days went by so quickly, but Arbaminch left us with memories that will last a lifetime.
