π£π£ "Brilliance knows no gender, but history often forgets the women who prove it."
Meet β¨β¨Dr. Gerty Cori β¨β¨ β The Woman Who Unlocked the Secrets of Energy in Our Cells
At a time when women in science were ignored, Dr. Gerty Cori made a discovery that changed medicine forever. π§ͺβ‘ She uncovered how the body converts sugar into energyβa breakthrough that led to modern treatments for diabetes and metabolic diseases.
π¬ But while her husband, Carl Cori, was celebrated, she was pushed into the shadowsβoffered only low-ranking research positions and lower pay. Still, she refused to be overlooked. She kept working, kept discovering, kept proving the world wrong. And in 1947, she became the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in Medicine.
π‘π Let this be a reminder that true impact isnβt measured by recognition, but by the lives changedβand Dr. Coriβs work continues to save millions today.

World π Oral π¦· Health Day.
Ethiopiaβs πͺπΉ Dentist Shortage is a Crisis
π¦· What do you do when you have a toothache?
π¨ For many Ethiopians, the isn't much to do.
πΉ Only 1 dentist per 50,000 people in Ethiopia.
πΉ Compare that to 1 dentist per 1,000 people in high-income countries.
πΉ Many rural areas have zero access to dental professionals.
This is on top of the economic strains of Oral Disease:
π° Ethiopia loses $182 million yearly in productivity due to oral diseases.
π°Yet, the country spends only $100,000 per year on dental care.
β That means for every $1 spent on dental care, Ethiopia loses $1,820 in lost productivity!
Our call for the day:
π’ We need:
β More trained dental workers in Ethiopia.
β Stronger policies to integrate oral health into primary healthcare.
β Community-based prevention programs to reach rural areas.
β Investing in prevention saves money and improves health.

Meet β¨The Nuremberg Code β¨ β The Rulebook That Saved Ethics in Medicine
Imagine a world where doctors could experiment on people without consentβterrifying, right? Well, that was reality during World War II, when Nazi doctors conducted horrific experiments on prisoners. The world was outraged, and in 1947, the Nuremberg Code was born!
π©Ί What did it do?
It established informed consent as the golden rule of medical research, meaning no one can be used as a test subject without full knowledge and agreement. This was the first step toward modern medical ethics, shaping how research is done today.

Imagine living in a world where you couldnβt express your thoughtsπ, where society saw you as incapable simply because you were deaf. That was the reality for many before one man changed everything.
AbbΓ© Charles-Michel de lβΓpΓ©e, an 18th-century French educator, believed that deaf individuals had the right to education and communication. While others dismissed them, he saw their potentialπ‘. Using hand signs already in use by the deaf community, he developed the first standardized sign language systemβlaying the foundation for what would become modern sign languages. π£οΈβ‘οΈπ€
In 1760, he established the worldβs first free school for the deaf, proving that with the right tools, deaf individuals could learn, succeed, and thrive.
