From earning his Doctor of Medicine at Jimma University with the highest grade and a gold medal 🏅 to excelling in General Surgery at Bahir Dar University and completing a fellowship in Hepatobiliary Surgery at Addis Ababa University, Dr. Andualem’s dedication to medicine was unmatched. 💉🌍

As Head of Surgical Services at Tebebe Ghion Specialized Hospital, his influence on healthcare and education was immense, leaving a legacy through the lives he touched. 🌱

War and instability steal the brightest among us. Dr. Andualem’s tragic loss reminds us of the dangers healthcare workers face in conflict zones.

The Dancing Plague of 1518: When Strasbourg Couldn't Stop Grooving (Literally to Death)

In the summer of 1518, the city of Strasbourg, France, was struck by a bizarre phenomenon: a dancing plague. It began with one woman, who suddenly started dancing uncontrollably in the street. Within days, dozens more joined her, and soon hundreds of people were caught up in a frenzied, nonstop dance. The authorities, believing the dancing to be a sign of divine displeasure, encouraged it, even building stages and hiring musicians😁

The dancers didn't stop. Day and night, they writhed and leaped, driven by an unknown force. People collapsed from exhaustion, dehydration, and even heart attacks. The city became a scene of morbid celebration, with people literally dancing themselves to death. Imagine the sheer panic and confusion as people realized their city had turned into a fatal disco!
