Art & Medicine Symposium: Discovering the Artistic Pulse of Medicine!
π€ The celebration of the potential of art in healing that took place was a success. Participants benefited greatly from the expertise of our guests.
π€Throughout the symposium, attendees were treated to a diverse range of presentation, and discussions that showcased the transformative power of art in healthcare settings.
π€In addition to thought-provoking talks, participants took part in our mini-art exhibition, which was put together by our own students.
π€The EMSA-AA EB hopes participants left with a renewed sense of purpose for integrating art into their fields and this event served as a catalyst for collaboration between artists and healthcare professionals.
π€We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our esteemed guests for sharing their valuable time with us. We would also like to thank our sponsor, Dashen Bank, for making this event possible.

Did you know?
Back in the late 19th century, Sir Robert Jones came up with the Thomas splint, a femoral splint. This amazing contraption revolutionized the treatment of femoral fractures during World War I and it was a game changer in the field of orthopedics. Before the splint, these fractures were a real nightmare, often resulting in serious complications and even death. But thanks to Sir Robert Jones and his genius invention, mortality rates dropped drastically, and patients started getting better outcomes.
Hats off to Sir Robert Jones for changing the game and making a huge impact on orthopedic care!

π We're back with the second episode of... LET'S TALK HUMANITY.
βThe conversation between doctor and patientβ¦ should be viewed as the single most important tool of medical care,β Danielle Ofri says at the end of her book, 'What Patients Say, What Doctors Hear'.
She confesses her own failure in a gripping tale: a relentless patient, Oumar Amadou, whose pleas were perceived as pestering. As fate would have it, when urgency struck, their encounter unfolded in a heart-stopping moment - a reminder that genuine connection can spell the difference between life and despair.
"Amidst the orchestra of beeping monitors, one doctor's empathetic glance became a lifeline - a human touch in a sterilized world. Without it, patients become mere case numbers; with it, they find strength in shared humanity."
