πŸ—‚Medical History πŸ“‹
1600 BC (Ancient Egypt): Doctors discovered that the heart pumps🩸around the body.
For thousands of years, the heart got the credit for almost everything that happened in the body. The Ancient Egyptians noticed there were tubes coming off the heart going in all sorts of different directions, so they decided that it was responsible for moving around blood (yep!), spit (umm, nope), poo (what were they thinking?), the soul (is that even a thing?) and ghosts πŸ‘» (umm, guys...).

Kenyan Senator Gloria Orwob was asked to leave parliament because she had a period stain on her white suit. She decided to attend the parliament with stained suitpants to make a statement about the need to openly discuss menstruation and end the stigma. She also said, "This is the period stigma that is making our girls kill themselves". However Gloria Orowba was called "disgraceful" and "shameful" for this act by her fellow parliament members.

This kind of incidents show how much it is a taboo to talk about menstruation publicly. Many girls and women don't have access to sanitary pads and are forced to be absent from their education and work, still as a society we prefer to ignore the topic.

Its time for a change. Lets break the silence.
