SCOPH-AA wishes, happy world health day for EMSA-AA family.
Efforts has been made, to help our society, lead a healthy life- it's like the tip of the iceberg though. But we believe as aspiring health professionals, there is immense potential within us to make " health for all" a reality.
Let's keep engaging on our activities, with a vision of making the world a better place to leave, by creating a healthy society.
Here we present you, some key messages of WHO for the day:-
πHealth For All envisions that all people have good health for a fulfilling life in a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world.
πThe right to health is a basic human right. Everyone must have access to the health services they need when and where they need them without financial hardship.
π30% of the global population is not able to access essential health services.
πAlmost two billion people face catastrophic or impoverishing health spending, with significant inequalities affecting those in the most vulnerable settings.
πUniversal health coverage (UHC) offers financial protection and access to quality essential services, lifts people out of poverty, promotes the well-being of families and communities, protects against public health crises, and moves us toward #HealthForAll.
πTo make health for all a reality, we need: individuals and communities who have access to high quality health services so that they can take care of their own health and that of their families; skilled health workers providing quality, people-centred care; and policy-makers committed to investing in universal health coverage.

Greetings,
β April is autism awareness month. As SCOPH-AA, we wanted to use this opportunity to deliver some key message about autism. Please do give us a minute of your day to read this.
π§‘Today, 1 in every 54 children is diagnosed with autism. Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a complex developmental condition that affects communication and behavior.
𧑠We need to work together to raise awareness and understanding of autism and reduce the stigma associated with the condition.
𧑠Autism awareness is crucial because it aids early detection and intervention. Early detection of autism can make a significant difference in children's lives as they receive timely intervention and treatment. Typically, children with Autism are diagnosed between 2-4 years old- even later on our setup. But with heightened awarness, parents and caregivers could recognize the signs earlier than that. Once identified interventions like, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) can improve their communication skills, relieve anxiety, and manage behaviors. Thus, learning and understanding the early signs of autism wouldn't only benefit the child alone, but also have societal impact.
𧑠Itβs important to remember that people with autism are just like everyone else. They have their own unique personalities and strengths. With the right support and understanding, people with autism can go on to reach their full potential.
𧑠Letβs work together to make sure that everyone has access to the support and help they need. Together, we can create a society that is inclusive and accepting of everyone, no matter their condition.

Application callout for EMSA-Ethiopia 8th General Assembly Plenary team and CCC
EMSA-Ethiopia has had a long history rooted in a democratic process where its local chapters during the General Assembly have the highest decision making authority. The general assembly through plenary sessions passes decisions that govern and guide all officials and local chapters throughout the term(s).
A Plenary Session (or plenary) is the part of a general meeting that everyone attends. It is where the assembly opens and closes, where major statements are made and broad-ranging debate may be conducted, and where all decisions by the assembly are passed. Itβs a platform to celebrate the democratic values of the association and ensure the sustainability and functionality of our beloved association.
The sophisticated decision-making processes of EMSA β Ethiopia always require a dedicated team to guide officials and LCs through the process and make sure everything is in order. Hence the need for the plenary team, a group of dedicated and motivated individuals who will be guiding, assisting, and coordinating all involved individuals attending the plenaries.
If you are passionate about making our decision-making process just and fair, about making sure every voice is heard, and making sure everything is in order- then you are invited to apply for the 8th EMSA β Ethiopia General Assembly Plenary Team.
